Glenn Vilppu turned 90 today, and one of the things he says about having a long life is to walk and exercise, which enables him to draw as much as he does in his age.

I've started doing the same thing and I think it's really gonna help with my drawing journey.

What are some things can you recommend in the day-to-day in terms of longevity?

Exercise and workouts along with good amount of sleep, while also not eating fast food all the time is pretty much essential. Going into retirement is basically childhood 2.0 in terms of time being available to you, and avoiding lifestyle diseases will help your physical and mental health in that age. Also sudoku and puzzles are underrated as hell, and has been scientifically proven to improve learning abilities long past the average lifespan of a person.

That's actually very nice to think about, thanks anon.

I hear learning a second language is also great for brain health.

The part about it being a second childhood is a cope, by the way, no way in hell can you compare having the joints and stamina and fresh perspective on things that a 10 year old does.

Vilppu has been senile for the past 15 years, and is probably shitting his pants these days with how how much trouble he had just turning around last I saw him. Fuck living that long

Why do these boomers live so long while the generations in front of them are dying left and right?

As a northern european, life expectancy is pretty long, and quality of life in later years is pretty good. Free healthcare, good social security, bla, bla. It's highly dependent on where you live, I think. Someone growing old in Cambodia will have a vastly different experience than someone in Belgium. The USA is a whole other matter; a coughing fit can be a life or death situation in your later years, and can ruin you financially if you're not careful. Horrid.
