well, there's goes the youtube option for animators. Making money online as an artist is becoming even worse as time goes on.
>>8012934big deal you won't make shit with 4k watch hours anyway
Honestly, relying on these platforms to give you money instead of creating actual revenue sources yourself has made people lazy. Newgrounds Animators didn't get money from the site back in the day (outside of cash prizes for frontpages and such, and that wasn't much).People made merch, released DVDs, hunted down sponsors for the project, had donation drives, got their own advertising system sort out and made their own websites to keep all ad profits, did private showings, and so on.Now people fail to suck on the financial tit of youtube, twitter, or webtoon, etc, and just give up. These companies don't WANT to give you money -- they would love for you to be as successful as possible without reaching the monetization threshold so that they can keep milking you for as much as possible without having to pay anything back.I wish people would just leave that fucking corpo shithole that is youtube; it's soul already left at least a decade ago.
>>8012934Youtube has been unpredictable for 15 years now. Anyone who thought they could make a career out of it is dumb.
>allow AI slop to literally flood the site>bots run rampant>even channels completely run by AIs>you can buy views, subs and comments>"yo wtf why did requirements for monetization double?"they know they can't completely remove monetization except for the big ones because it would kill any incentive for anyone to start uploadingBut 2028-29 they will require you to verify your legal identity with face scans as mobile companies already do with sim cards
Everyone who has had an account since 2007 - 2010 should already have 1000 subs just from the sub4sub days. That's such a bullshit rug pull right there.
>>80129341000 subs is nothing and if you have a channel with a few big videos or actual good channel people want to watch then the rest is nothing either, that's a few thousands views
>>8012995Uhh nobody ain't gonna watch you unless you're tutorial boy or some big name like Megamikeymega. You'll be throwing pebbles into an ocean for a long time from scratch.
you can win at youtube just by stealing other peoples meme compilations, rearranging them and uploadingor cat video shorts, also stolenor cropped hentai until you get banneddont actually use that cesspool of a normiesite to actually think you got a chance at making real content
>>8013000>you can win at youtube just by stealing other peoples meme compilations, rearranging them and uploadingIf it was that easy, everyone would be rich or have a side hustle making them $$$.
>>8013006the real money is on youtube kidz and yes, anyone who isn't a teenager is farming that and making literal millions
>>8012999Where do you think all of those started. What's the point in complaining aobut requirement when you act like it's useless to begin with.YT isn't the best place to earn money as an artist anyway unless you do 20-30 almost nsfw gooner slop or haha the joke is sex just like ever twitter/patreon artist.
most patreon/twitter gooner slop numbers are bots and money launderingyou'll earn so little that you will never retire because if you're earning anything, 99% of it is not even your moneymight as well get a job and pay income taxes at that point
>>8013006>f it was that easy, everyone would be rich or have a side hustle making them $$$.they are, just a lot of people have morals/those accounts get banned or taken down due to copyright. Hell, engagement bait accounts and art reposting accounts weren't as common in twatter before blue became a thing.

Many artist websites or youtube alternatives have been made and fucking failed cause the consoomers don't want to use anything else.
>>8013010>YT isn't the best place to earn money as an artist anyway unless you do 20-30 almost nsfw gooner slopyoutube is actually one of the few platforms where being successful as an artist doesn't require that at all and just go full sfw, the only issue is you have to make stuff that appeals to babies and children mostly. You're thinking of toctik.
i give you one current example from yours trulyi am watching creepypasta schizo shit and this guy got 400k for basically doing fucking nothing, literally and unironically nothing just """"reacting"""" to tik tok vids and even gets sponsorshipsbtw if you're into paranormal alien shit, schizos and occultards are the easiest genre to farm, they were even long before the internet was inventedWant easy views? Record your basement and title it "omg there is a ghost bigfoot alien who wants to have sex with me" while having your buddy turn the lights on and offRecord the sky and put an ufo png and call it "aliens are cumming for me" or some shitif you're in the arts for money and clout, you're genuinely a huge retard
>>8012934Wh is everyone acting like this is impossible to achieve? Both 1000 subs and 8000 hours is random no name channel tier. If you upload a single 5 minute video ever month and each gets 8000 views you would already be there.
>>8013041views != watch hours
>>8013041watch hours is how LONG each person watches/clicks a video, people would watch a video would stop at certain points and either come back to finish it or forget about it.8/10 the views on a video are inflated cause it's most likely views from the same person. also youtube in the past use to be based on clicks to get rev, but switched to watch hour shit.
>>8012934this might unironically be a good thing if it kills all the faggots who rely on clickbaiting and faggot thumbnails
>>8013212clickbait is what works unfortunately, I don't see how it'd affect that
