Can someone explain what this means? Which artwork is better?
Right is better because it doesn't have a dozen ctrl+z's, liquify, move and layers attached to it. Also, isn't traced.
>>8018422To draw left you need to learn how to draw right
>>8018422I think both are really boring.
>>8018422People that generally make art as a hobby/passion tend to outperform people that make it academically because there’s more pressure to create for the sake of getting a good grade than just creating for the sake of it. Kind of like how a book is more enjoyable when you’re reading it for pleasure and less enjoyable when it’s for class.
>>8018422The only good take.
>>8018465the one on the left is great however.
>>8018466It merely has colors. It then breaks down as westoid animesque garbage. The nose has one yaw, the eyes another and the glasses a third. The cheeks seem to have a fourth to try to make room for the distant eye (the close one is just wide).
>>8018422It's slave mentality shit, when you can't compete in art using the rules everyone agree on (i.e make a better drawing than the other guy) you'll then try to change them for a new ruleset that coincidentally puts you on top. That's why there are endless debates on tracing, 3D models, NSFW or when once in a blue moon AI shits out something vaguely decent everyone instantly redraws it and goes "yeah my version isn't as technically impressive but it has SOVL", if the original wasn't slop we'd bully them into suicide for this but as we agreed AI slop wasn't real art they win.
>>8018422Do you not have eyes?
>>8018466>wip vs turd pedo art beg drawing Both are shit and you're a dumb ass for not even acknowledge that op is a disingenuous faggot for the comparison
>>8018422>solid hands>clearly not bogged down with details>clean, solid overlapAll of this on a half-gesture?GMI.
>engagementbaitslopi saw this stuff on twitter i instantly clicked on don't show this profile anymore or blockedthen i just deleted twitter because every two posts it was some shitty attempt at farming engagement
>>8018469>different yawsthe glasses could be better but the comment on the eyes shows you dont know shit about anime
>>8018422A lot of fine arts programs will take literally anyone, so it's not uncommon to see a lot of low skill students, especially in programs where skill building isn't a focus. The whole point is that you can find randos doing more appealing work just by browsing twitter.
>>8018422>random twitter artistIncentive to learn fundamentals from the sheer power of porn addiction. If it's not good enough to fap to it's not good enough>college student majoring in the arts somehow inferior than average twittardEssential fundamentals are either nonexistent in the curriculum or there's no real incentive to learn them, and telling people to maybe challenge themselves past their limit makes you a party pooperDoesn't happen as often in Russian or Chinese art colleges btw, because they bother to fail any retards who can't even outclass a twitter porn artist. They at least have the common decency to go home and kill themselves
>>8018495that's not anime, I can smell the brown hands that made that abomination
>>8018434right was drawn in agony, left was drawn for fun.
this shit means literally nothing. no one knows what experience left has or how new right is or anything. its utterly meaningless engagement bait for 20 iq retards to get mad at
>>8018422People that don't research this topic don't really know that anglo art "colleges" or art faculties don't really teach how to DO art. There's tons of talk about expression, "important issues" and so on, but not a lot of talk about how to put paint down or even art history without some agenda on top of it.At best you get some unguided live drawing hour, but in the end your work will be judged by it's message, not any kind of technical proficiency
You stupid faggots are so disingenuous. If right was posted here it would be taken and put in the /beg/ op to be mocked and left would be called "mid-high int"
>>8018623Speaking from experience in the field, in the western world there's the assumption that you'll either already have some technical knowledge on how to draw already, or you'll dedicate a significant amount of time to it for yourself. It's the same mentality most humanities have about writing, spelling, coherence, etc. That's why you see a lot of college professors in interviews expressing complete frustration over having to teach 4th grade grammar in a university lecture that could have been spent on subjects of value. In the western world, higher education, humanities is not about repetition or becoming mechanically better at a craft, but it's about building on top of a foundation to become better at what you're already good at. The major problem, which I've experienced myself in teaching students, is that most regular universities will have a low barrier to entry because it's more about the total grade average on all subjects from high school, rather than merits and technical know-how.There are universities that have extremely high standards, and are internationally recognized as a respectable institution, and you'll have to be almost at a genius level both technically, mentally and in expressiveness. It's a masters degree, and getting a PhD is so competitive, it's basically impossible unless you're top 1 percent.Still, it's not the same as a Chinese or Japanese degree, which focuses HEAVILY on technical mastery. At such a high level (masters and PhD) it's a given that you're classically good at a variety of subjects, and exceptional on one specific area. Everyone at that level can draw, but if you want homogenized art, Asia is your way to go, and it does have merits. Just not in western media, which has a long tradition of expression over mechanical know-how.Still, a lot of bachelor's degrees are so fucking mediocre, the image OP has linked is very normal. You'll see some excellent pieces, and those people will actually get a job worth recognition.
>>8018434Complaining about liquify, ok, I get it, but complaining about ctrl+z is just weirdo bizarre hypercrabbing. Ever heard of an eraser?
>>8018422Both are trans-coded, nasty.
they are both the same level
>>8018646erasers only work in the sketch phase and will still leave marks in the paper
>>8018727If you need more undo than that then just toss your drawing in the bin
>>8018727>what is white out>what is a paintover
I saw this in my feed.I was wondering if he just chose a random image, because nothing is comparable. The pose, the angle, the model...nothingI didn't quite get what he was getting at
>>8018422that is not the original image.
>>8018469>>8018546I don't get it, you retarded weebs hate people trying to draw anime and yet you shitters do the same thing. You aren't even asian
>>8018779>HUEHUEHUEshan't read
>>8018780but you did though, no need to pretend otherwise you still wouldn't be in this tread. It's getting sad
>>8018740Post the original?
>>8018783I can tell you're the color of poop
>>8018422This is because you are forced to one realistic style in art school eventually they pick up up too and get even better if they keep working... also this is a problem with people because they say "Oh i didn't learn anything in art school" bullshit you didn't work hard enough or you weren't paying attention during classes at all.
>>8018785I will never understand you troons and the self hate for you race.
>>8018812go be brown somewhere else, anime is not for your kind
>>8018469>>8018495Left is definitely better than right even ignoring the fact that it’s inked and colored and right isn’t, but, left still looks like tumblr pseudo-anime rather than true anime
>>8018810>you didn't work hard enough or you weren't paying attention during classes at all.the thing about art majors/school. Most of the actual improvements are self-taught and you need to go out of your way to improve, unlike most regular classes/majors. Then again, art school is mainly for making connections in the first place.
>>8018815>anime is not for your kindglasshouse, anon.
>>8018821yup, if you don't do work yourself nobody will do it for you... skills can be only taught via hard work. Teachers can show you all the fucking amazing things tell you what to study still if you don't care you won't get good that's how it is and sadly in my school back then we had lot of people that were there just to pass they didn't give a shit, they didn't do anything unless they got it as work they had to do in order to pass the class.
>>8018825I can tell you're seething brownishly
>>8018821Pretty much yeah. If there’s a highly skilled teacher there who is willing to give you a lot of detailed targeted critique on your work, then that can make art school worthwhile. And even then you’ll still be doing most of the “learning” on your own time. And if you can’t get that kind of individualized attention then art school is worthless and you’re better off just saving the money
>>8018846Yup 80k+ rip.
>>8018784took me a while but it was on "know your memes" for some reason. I had some schooling so I can't really criticize.
"no rules only tools"the hips on right are actually pretty good and its just a sketch. also kuno went on some autistic screed about asian genes (without saying it) in the thread so lol
>>8018623good, fundamentals are there just to sell your message. otherwise just look at ai at this point.
>>8018474Only correct answer itt
>>8018422Funniest shit seeing people who fell for the art school defending right as if it isn’t obvious the one on the left is more appealing. The lack of construction and rhythm on the right makes it look like it was traced more than the one on the left
use your eyes.right can't feel forms, the face is pure symbol drawing, no anatomy (what is that neck), no gesture, no shapes, no understanding of line weight
