Scumsuck is one of those artist who's style I think is cool but their tastes often differs from my own. I love the way they treat anatomy.

Rarely see her name mentioned but Ayami Kojima is amazing

she's not obscure at all wdym
>>
>>8019742
Clearly not obscure in the sense that she worked on one of the most popular franchises ever and her work has been seen by millions of people. I just never see her name brought up when people talk about art inspirations, that’s all

I use the term "nomurian" as shorthand for women of the absolute highest level of beauty. If I could draw characters like Tetsuya Nomura that would be my measure of making it as an artist, reguardless of how much money I make or how much recognition I get. Not only the way he draws people, but the wau he draws monsters is amazing, he designed all the heartless and nobodys, his art has been there my whole life and Ill never grow tired of it.

Yusuke Naora is one of my favorite artists, absolutely love his art direction, especially in the SaGa series and The Last Remnant.
I notice he's overshadowed by the other other SE artists a lot.

Crazy that he still has no proper artbook. He must have drawn thousands of monster and characters and NPCs over the decades and even did the storyboard for a bunch of FF cutscenes and limits

Probably a normie take, but I am still exploring this field.
>>
>>8034313
comics are very expressive and have far more skilled artists than you'd find at manga for example. theres also more experimentation with styles. i dont think its bad (or normie/normalfag) to like something popular or with mainstream appeal, it's usually popular for a reason. most of the time the reason is that its actually quality. if anything, you should study popular and niche at the same time, find out why it has appeal or find out why something is weird and niche. life is learning. keep on keeping on, anon.

lol that is what capeshit fans actually tell themselves

i primarily read manga, so i know the difference. theres a handful of mangakas that are pretty skilled, but the threshhold in comics is a lot higher. and we're not talking style and appeal, general artistic skill is in question. people on this board love to suck miuaras dick, but he is barely upper /int/ at best. and again, not talking about his fantastic designs and dedication to complicated lines, but his technique was very amateurish. same with araki for example. its all style>technique. it's pop-art. any design and art student worth a damn would tell you the same. and again, you read this as disparagment, getting your little axe wound twisted in your fannies, but it is merely a fact.

obata is a generational talent whose most recognized work is his collaborations with a very middling writer, still, i love his weird ass designs for that castlevania fighting game

Also, to be completely clear, this is not only common, it's endorsed by management. Capeshit is filled with hack frauds.

>>8036587
>>8036588
There's plenty of examples of Mangaka doing the same. Just say you hate capeshit, and leave it at that.

>There's plenty of examples of Mangaka doing the same.
Difference being it will get your shit canceled over there, as opposed to be endorsed by management.
>Just say you hate capeshit, and leave it at that.
I hate what it's become, and the garbage industry that surrounds it, and most especially the fucking retards that pass for professionals.
