Recharge your art batteries with some inspiring content. A place to post and discuss interesting non-tutorial videos about art and artists. Documentaries, general art culture, esoterica, and instructional videos provided they are unique in what they show or are uniquely inspiring. Please avoid artTuber content as they are agents of the antichrist

I'll just look through my subscriptions and pick out random art channels and videos from said channels.

>@mattwith4ts
Is a pretty great channel for artist documentaries, though he focuses only on comics.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yTkJ98aUGo

>@thomaspitilli
Again is a channel mostly focusing on comic art, though he branches out from time to time to whatever artist catches his attention. Mostly it's just him talking about what he appreciates about the art, and what he feels he (and we) can learn from looking at an studying said art.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6In0tZXTZE

>@BJGpixel
Does a lot of videos that are just recordings of him making pixel art, and him talking about his thought process and methods while doing so. They're kind of like tutorials, but not? Regardless, it's just nice watching people be really passionate about their niche little medium. I similarly like dollightful for the same reason, actually.

>@Posterconservation
I watch a few different channels about art and poster conservation. You often get to see great art, learn about the artist or the property being depicted, and just watch the generally fascinating work of art conservation.

>@VideoGameAnimationStudy
Been a while since I watched this guy, actually. If I recall correctly, it was not videos on the method of animation, but rather, him breaking down and explaining why certain bits of animation within a game worked so well.

>@ArchipelDocumentaries
Documentaries about Japanese creators across various fields.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmWHIN9LrSU

>@strafefox
Some really fantastic documentaries that focus mostly on older videogame art, though he does branch out a bit, such as with his documentary series on the art and aesthetics of the 80's.

I think that should be enough for now.

An anon has already recommended it but Archipel is pretty good
their older videos, specifically their older Toco Toco series is a but janky but still fun
also, besides illustrators and mangaka, they also highlight other artists like musicians, game developers, fashion designers etc
I really like this one but they have other really good videos

Blind Dweller is also a channel I really like and he's back to uploading after taking a very long break. Besides painters and illustrators, he also covers sculptors, performance artists and others. Generally focuses more on controversial and disturbing material. Super recommend.

Finally, not a youtube channel but a series that has been uploaded there, "Journeys Into the Outside with Jarvis Cocker". A series where Jarvis Cocker travels around the world showcasing and meeting with outsider artists. It's fantastic. All 4 episodes are on youtube.

What, like The Thomas Crown Affair?... I guess I kinda liked the film, but I'm not sure it was much of an /ic/ film, haha.
Anyway, you can watch The Thomas Crown Affair on TubiTV if you want, if it's still there, that is.

Just watched this documentary on the contemporary art price bubble during 2008, it was a reasonably interesting watch.

Youtube allows for nudity for 'educational purposes', though this is often vaguely applied.
There is (or was) a load of 'nude yoga' videos, which doesn't seem very educational, but they say it's to help with the yoga moves' posture and such, and have remained up.
I suppose if you're looking for figure drawing videos though, you can take a look at those.

Funnily enough, actual nude models for drawing purpose, I believe, get taken down -- as I've seen very very few.

i know of those channels but they usually link to paid adult content or camwhore sites
think i got one or two of such chinese channels taken down
also a 4million sub channel where some camwhore exposed herself in public calling it "pranks" and using tags like pokemon or paw patrol, finally got taken down
i also took down sukkujin or whatever he is called because he posted fetish content+ straight up graphic nudity

there is so much actual suspicious goonslop on youtube its insane
like, just don't post such content on non-porn sites while also aiming it at kids and without any real age restriction, it's not that hard
