I failed the art school exam.
Do you have the strength and resolve a certain Austrian lad had years ago?
>>8021829Join the clubpyw and we gonna judge you if you deserve it
>>8021829Blame your parents.
>>8021829What do they even do in the admission exam?
>>8021847there were two stages. first you draw a few objects put on a table, second you draw something putting together the patterns they show you.I thought I'd be taking the exam next year and then decide since I didn't have the time to prepare properly. but now I'm not so sure. my confidence is mostly erased. what if I won't be able to pass even if I labor for the remainder of the year?this was my plan to escape NEET.
>>8021850yeah, blame your parents
>>8021861how does that help me exactly? is it a meme around here, I am a newcomer.
I thought the point of art 'school' was to get trained in art. Seems like kind of a scam if you already have to be competent to enter. The fuck are they gonna teach you?Is there a /prebeg/ art school you have to go to first?>>8021869>I'm a newcomerStop posting the frog. You stick out like a sore thumb.
>>8021829Art schools still have standards?
>>8021873>I thought the point of art 'school' was to get trained in art. Seems like kind of a scam if you already have to be competent to enter. The fuck are they gonna teach you?>Is there a /prebeg/ art school you have to go to first?Same way as any school with too many applicants they start weeding out the bottom tier detritus.
>>8021829literally cannot happen unless you are in some backwater european country/east asia, those still have standards for whatever reason. if you are in the west it means you probably have a criminal record or were flagged for thought crimes.
>>8021877I didn't think art school was still that popular.
>>8021881its not he's just talking out of his ass. no one gets denied in the west, they are more than happy to take your money.
>>8021873Frankly the schools are just redpilled on what /ic/ has said all along, drawing requires talent. If someone has talent and already intuitively understands drawing then a good teacher can polish them up and make them really amazing. But if someone lacks the spark then even the best teacher in the world can’t give it to them, you can’t teach someone from pure zero and make them into an artist.
>>8021873>Stop posting the frog. You stick out like a sore thumb.bold of you to assume I will stick around enough to remain sticking out.>>8021880I don't live in US. college is state funded where I live, they don't function like paid private art classes so there's some competition to be among the small minority that gets accepted. I didn't even go for the most popular option but there were still hundreds of people in line to take the exam when I arrived there.>>8021895don't break my spirits.
>>8021895>redpilled on what /ic/ has said all along, drawing requires talentExcept most people out there recognize this. What makes /ic/ unique is the opposite, the perpetual denial of talent being an actual thing.
>>8021913Actually yeah you’re kinda right lol. I got it in my head from a very young age that some people “could draw” and some people couldn’t. Probably the prime example among normies of a pursuit that requires talent, outside of maybe sports.
>>8021829We are so back
>>8021873pre/beg/s will never make it and why would they go to art school if they never drew. They don't even know if they like it and whether they have talent
I also was rejected from art school in 2020and my name is actualy Adolf unironically not kidding. I thought I'd have higher chances honestly
>>8021895idk why you fags talk about talent when you don't even know how to begin to recognize it
>>8021928We’re talking about recognizing people who obviously can draw vs those who obviously can’t, we’re not making fine discriminations of artistic value here. Even a non-artist can tell when someone just totally sucks
>>802193210+ years on /ic/ and all i've ever read is other people calling everyone a /beg/ because they don't make /pro/ artwork while calling the sloppiest goonslop the second ejaculation of Christ.get outta hea
>>8021881Well, if something isn't popular, there is less of it available, thus the few that want to be part of it could be more than the few poor institutions can handle.
>>8021927>my name is actualy Adolf unironically not kidding. You would think that anyone applying with the name Adolf would be automatically passed, as a preventative measure.
>>8021927have you tried it only once?
>>8021995Maybe the reviewer was based and was hoping for a repeat.
>>8022002Well then, Adolf anon has some big shoes to fill, and he better get to work.
>>8021927cute expression
>>8022002a repeat complete destruction of Germany? must've been a frenchie reviewer
>>8021850Did they give you any feedback, or was it just pass/fail? Unless they told you that you failed so badly that they were insulted or something, there's no reason to be so down on yourself.>>8021927Cute Peach. What kind of program did you go in for? I know at least in the US the fine arts people will look down their nose at anyone doing anything remotely in the realm of "commercial" art or anything connected to it.
>>8022012Germany was destroyed already. He gave the Germans something to be proud of: to have had the entirety of Europe in a stranglehold just after economic collapse, the industrial scale of genocide (if the number is true) conducted, the absolute show of strength through the Volkssturm. No nation in the past or future will ever be able to wage a war of such totality. It was worth the bombed cities and the many dead people. If only the Germans would feel proud of that accomplishment.
>>8022016no feedback just a fail. thanks. I feel as though I was personally insulted as an irredeemable case because I was really emotionally invested in this shit.I will give my all this year and make the next one count.
>>8022038did you get to keep the drawings you made during the exam?could be useful to post them here and get feedback
>>8022038>>8022043Yeah just pyw in general, we can give you an accurate assessment on where you stand. No I’m not just trying to be mean
>>8022018>Volkssturmseems like you just think german is cool (which is true), maybe learn what the words mean instead of larping as a natsoc?
>>8022043they took the papers. but I like your idea. I might do a drawing from memory to recreate my exam paper and get criticism based on that.
>>8022199you could also try redoing the setup (i.e. set up your own still life)memory drawings tend to drag behind observational, so the feedback you'd get this way would be more accurate
>>8021873>art schools >teachingArt schools operate on the retarded logic that you already know how to do everything and that you go there for critique. They don't teach you anything and that's largely because the teachers there aren't there to teach their there because just having your work up in galleries alone doesn't pay the bills. Most of them don't know how to help you because they never studied for teaching nor have the mentality for it
>>8021829anon lets become an art friend, do you have some way i can contact you? i also wanted to become the next Renaissance artists
