there were two stages. first you draw a few objects put on a table, second you draw something putting together the patterns they show you.

I thought I'd be taking the exam next year and then decide since I didn't have the time to prepare properly. but now I'm not so sure. my confidence is mostly erased. what if I won't be able to pass even if I labor for the remainder of the year?

this was my plan to escape NEET.

Frankly the schools are just redpilled on what /ic/ has said all along, drawing requires talent. If someone has talent and already intuitively understands drawing then a good teacher can polish them up and make them really amazing. But if someone lacks the spark then even the best teacher in the world can’t give it to them, you can’t teach someone from pure zero and make them into an artist.

I don't live in US. college is state funded where I live, they don't function like paid private art classes so there's some competition to be among the small minority that gets accepted. I didn't even go for the most popular option but there were still hundreds of people in line to take the exam when I arrived there.

memory drawings tend to drag behind observational, so the feedback you'd get this way would be more accurate

Art schools operate on the retarded logic that you already know how to do everything and that you go there for critique. They don't teach you anything and that's largely because the teachers there aren't there to teach their there because just having your work up in galleries alone doesn't pay the bills. Most of them don't know how to help you because they never studied for teaching nor have the mentality for it
