what do you do when you're in a doomer period and it feels like no matter how much you study, it's pointless. i've already tried taking a break
Treat drawing like a job you're forced to do or else you die

just doodle and have fun
Try making something that isn't just studying. Why are you studying drawing anyway, surely there was something you wanted to make?If it was comics, make a short comic. If it was for games, make a short game.If it was just for sake of drawing itself, then indulge yourself and make some images purely for your own sake.If that isn't helping your mood, try changing things up, maybe try drawing traditionally, or even try painting. It may be an issue of drawing becoming routine, rather than feeling fresh and novel like it should.
>>8022019Studying in the void is often boring and drains your energy. It is needed, but it is better done together with goals and projects. As said by the anon >>8022032

I dont draw enough, but when I do draw it feels life draining and horrible.I want to draw good, and create memorable artwork but I don't know if I can keep taking these blows. I'm not 20 anymore.
i brute force, 8-10 hours a day on average, trying to get to 12 but i have adhd, it's hard enough as is

>>8022213>>8022501>>8022021these comments especially are right. nobody who's good at something got good by fucking around and pitying themselves and not trying even when they didn't feel like it. thank you bros

>>8022019Go trough every drawing you've ever made (set aside a lot of time for this), pick the pieces you actually feel good looking at¸ the ones that make you feel something, then do more of that, even if it doesnt seem like the most "optimal" practice.Regardless of what you are drawing, you are always training some fundamentals and developing visual library (the latter especially if you are drawing a lot of the same thing, and you're using references which you obviously should be). You are also developing "general intuition for what looks correct". You can autistically study anatomy and construct everything in an assembly line method using boxes and grids and shit, but if you just drew a ton (while keeping a few things in mind, like perspective, doing controlled sketching, using references), you would improve quickly. A lot of the things artists struggle with can be solved by just "Drawing 100 of it", rather than spending a ton of time setting up these box assembly lines and wondering what the correct way to even study it. Also make your artwork visible to you. When drawing traditionally you can tape stuff to the wall. When drawing digitally this is harder, but maybe you can put it all on your desktop.
im in a worse situation because i havent progressed at all since february and in the mean time my brain lost any will to improve. It all feels pointless. How does one rape this mindset? It feels like drawing is more like a job and i fucking hate this. I gave myself one month of break but it didnt help. Any other ways to move on from this?
>>8022019because you probably do 1 drawing per month or worse>taking a breakyep
