Seedance2.5 just released and the videos it can make are really impressive. I am aware AI art isn't really discussed here but im wondering if any if you have started feeling differently about it after it went from a fast way to make bad looking images to a fast way to make decent/good looking images.

i hope this doesnt get deleted, its a relevant post

personally i have always preferred the idea of being an actual traditional artist instead of animating, but this must be quite the blow to somebody with different affinities.

It's literally all that gets discussed here. To the point that you're almost certainly a troll

Jannies have been going insane with deleting posts and threads at random lately even when they're clearly related to art, I don't get it

gachaslop artists are in trouble
might as well make gachas fully AI
their playerbases certainly wouldnt notice

I don't care about the thread topic, but I just wanted to comment on how ugly and cringe the animations are (once again, regardless of how they were created, I can't fathom someone would willingly enjoy looking at and enjoying stuff like this).

i think they are quite good actually.

AI already killed fanart and dominates the market with Gacha, it looks horrible but zoomers don't really care.

This will eventually kill animation, most japanese anime from the past what? 6 years been absolute fucking garbage from an animation and from an artistic standpoint. That's all, not a lot to discuss really. Not even sure what you want us to say? Congrats on having a local miHoYo studio?
>>
>>8022762
Fanart is still dominated by human artists except for the most degenerate /trash/piles. I think the only sphere visual AI did kill actually off is MS Paint meme comics

Actually, we notice harder than anyone else. We pay thousands for our anime waifu jpgs, do you think our eyes aren't refined? We are literally the connoisseurs of this shit.

ai essentially replaces the "gold rush" of commercial illustration/animation. trad artist selling individual watercolours, pen and ink, and painting, will never be replaced, so essentially artists are back to their original place within society, ironically.

As a nonpro artist, AI image generation has helped supplement irl references. It's great for learning, and i think the best artists will always be unafected by it. If anything the bar for quality and standards has been risen.
>>
>>8022887
AI anatomy isn't inherently correct or incorrect. It all comes down to whether the images it has been trained with are anatomically correct or not.

what's the best place to use seedance? or can it only be run on local machine?

it is incorrect, broken spine and everything, shitty 3d effects by overlapping things incorrectly.

>>8022926
Trad art is for money laundering. No one gives a shit about oils and no one ever will. Plus 99% of you /trad/ shitters from 4chan are fucking dogshit, eating the paint must've made you blind.

>>8023184
It's manual labor that takes hours/days and deserves to be paid or acknowledged. Zoomniggers from DeviantArt charging $60 for a piece was the start, these retards don't even understand the value of money, no nigger of course your dogshit furry porn is not worth $60 yes this also opened the floodgates to a lot of people not giving a shit about art and just using AI to buy or prompt porn.

killing boorus, killing fanart, killing everything. There's not a single porn piece made after 2024 that's good cause it's all made with AI. Porn = AI cause they just want the money, got it chief? got it, good. If the artist tag was made after 2020 just ignore it, at least that's what i do, keep my feed clean.
>>
nah bra just watch another minions movie and whip another galaxy can all good fr
>>
My biggest problem about AI is that a ton of AI artists either have shit taste or no soul, you get technically impressive stuff but there's always something off like the composition being shit with everything being right in the center of the frame or the camera barely moving. And I'm sure the AI could figure this shit out, some people do manage to make the results more dynamic, but most don't bother, they see an output that looks like Family Guy without the jokes and think it's the model's fault instead of theirs.

Maybe we just need to add "by David Lynch" in every prompt like we did for that Pokemon painter back in the day.
>>
>>8023192
>cheating means it hasn't been risen at all
wdym? The quality of the average ai image exceeds that of the average artist, in order to compete, most artists will be forced to improve. If that's not raising the bar i don't know what is.
>>
>>8023196
>you get technically impressive stuff but there's always something off like the composition being shit with everything being right in the center of the frame or the camera barely moving
This is what i mean when i say ai is good for learning and will never replace the best artists. You as an artist can steal the bad executed idea from the ai and perfect it through your human craft. There's always hope.
>>
>>8023209
it just makes everyone cheat while pulling the ladder. This is not making people better, it's making them cheat and also killing the future.
>>
Astonishingly stunning. Amazingly breathtaking. Awe-inspiringly jaw-droppingly phenomenally gorgeous. This is the future, there is no debate about it. Work smart not hard. The cat is out of the bag. The pandora's box is opened. Adapt or be left behind. Gain advantage by using it now. You lose while you wait as others take the first step instead of you. Accept it and be transformed.

>steal the bad executed idea from the ai and perfect it through your human craft

That sounds like a colossal waste of time, I can already just imagine shit I don't need a first pass with AI to conceptualize a cute girl dancing. The likes on Twitter are nice but if it was a serious project it'd be the other way around, I'd do a rough sketch to place the key elements where I want, provide the AI with a bunch of reference like character sheets I drew earlier , and tell it to figure it out, from what I've seen just fucking around with free models when I was bored img2img is always far better than text2img, sometimes it fucks up the small details but if you give it a sketch the AI will never just decide to draw your character from another angle or in another pose.because that one is hard.

That's probably how it's going to go down in the next few years, it's not replacing animators yet but I'm sure if you give it a few keyframes and the storyboard it will replace all those koreans studioswere outsourcing to.

Japan no longer wants to hire koreans cause they are expensive, anime is now getting outsourced to india and iran too. been like that for a while just not the standard.

This is the first ai animation video I've seen that made me question if it was AI or not at first glance. I'm only seeing it on mobile right now, and I'm not a big watcher of ai shit so maybe there are some trends it is following, but fuck, anime is kill. Watching it a second time I did spot obvious tells (rope sequence arms holding gun while extra arms are going hand over hand)

Maybe Hayao Miyazaki can use this to keep producing kino in his 90s.
>>
>>8023263
Doesn't anime get outsourced to random twitter animators?
>>
>>8023294
Really? Ot looks awful, multiple consecutive frames with the typical AI melt/smear. I've seen better work on X and /gif/.

>anime is kill
Not even close. There are multiple problems with AI video:
1.It's too costly to apply changes both pre and post production.
2.There are too many guardrails on what you can do.
3.There isn't a way to express intent without prose.
4.Interpolation sucks, a sense of timing has to be done manually.
5.Object permanence.

For creating a single domestic output, it's meh. For production grade work, it's not even close.

t. someone who has fun with AI

But for concept art and brainstorming, it's incredibly good.
>>
>>8023306
undergrads or recent grads from africa, india, iran, all of SEA. Fuck Korea they are too good and honest.
>>
>>8023317
As I said, I watched it on mobile, and not even rotated. But it was super consistent with the character, keeping the cat etc, all the clothing's stayed on-model. Surely this kind of tech can turn (detailed)storyboards from someone like Miyazaki into decent films. The weird AI flaws may just be accepted in time, assuming it's upfront about being AI and not trying to be deceiving.
>>
>>8023322
Nah dude, illustrations are way, way different from animation.
Just in terms of energy consumption alone, it's not feasible to create a production-grade product. We're basically talking about running a 100x render farm every time a change is required. Just watch a behind-the-scenes video—the amount of changes made over minuscule things is insane. Now translate that to current AI workflows: impossible.

And what seemed like the more reliable technique, img2img, has been dropped in favor of prompting + nodes. I don't foresee a tech stack that can be leveraged for AI animation at length and still be profitable. The best attempt I've seen is an Hourdrean movie, copan the legend, and it really shows the current and future limitations.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxJcbZ5cSuI
idk man. is it really so expensive? this is slop, but so is a lot of real anime. if you gave a real anime director this stuff, and they planned around the expensive aspect by using low res initial outputs, live action references etc. They could put out something special. even the sound design alone is solved here, goodbye foley artists.
>>
Mogs me hard.
Trully it's over
>>
>>8022708
I'm starting to believe the cognitive resolution spammer, but I think he's aiming his spam at the wrong people. It's the primary anime consumers that have no taste and absolutely no ability to distinguish style. Anime is slop, pure and simple, and that's why weebs eagerly gobble up AI trash like the OP vids.
