what causes this phenomenon
>>8023840this doesnt only apply to photography and drawing. people like lofi stuff or making things feel lofi
>>8023840Tasteless render monkeys think it looks "realistic"
>>8023840Most photographers are clueless about good art. The best lenses, from an artistic point of view, are the vintage ones from 50-60 years ago
>>8023850>muh pretty colors
>>8023840The photographers have the standards here. The only people who like chromatic aberration are the extremely gay.
>>8023857"Artistic" photography is gimmicky and cringe. Screwing around with exposure times and filters and so on.Photography should be about framing reality in an appealing or interesting way, not distorting it into mush.
>>8023840Using effects to hide a poor drawing
>>8023840It’s impressive for a camera to accurately capture reality. It’s impressive for an artist to accurately capture reality, and then add the countless little flaws that film has.
>>8023925photography is exactly about that.
>>8023840Trend followers and >>8023953
>>8023953Usually the people who use it suck but it really hurts the soul when i see a decent artist use chromatic aidsberration
Any retard with CodeV and ten minutes to spare can design a lens with no chromatic aberration and a PSF smaller than my dick and even the cheapest brands are fine right out of the box, if you still have rainbows or astigmatism you either have no idea how the camera works or you specifically set it up that way because you thought it'd look cool
>>8023840Digital artists are bunch of hacks. They will get angry if you tell them that they are a graphic designer and their brushes are pseudo digital shape being mashed together and not an actual brush as in brush
>>8024193>posts mid beginner meme tutorial as a reflection of all digital artists
>>8023850chromatic aberration does add realism, however, for it to be close to realism it has to be much more subtle than 99% of people do it. The way it's used by many inexperienced artists is closer to glitchart than realism.
>>8024193disappointing reveal. but i'm onboard with silly pictures for texture
>>8024429You might as well add visual snow and floaters to your work because it's more "realistic"
>>8029847...they do add noise to pictures to make them more realistis since "visual snow" is literally just a byproduct of how our eyes function, except that it becomes a chronic condition rather than just specific scenarios. As for floaters, they don't really add much to a composition since they themselves both have shapes that can clash with the scene, and are not always glaringly in your face unless you already have pre existing eye conditions. A lot of realism is just learning how our eyes process light information
>>8023850I don't think it looks realistic I just like seeing colours
>>8023840Simple, it adds more choice as you can edit any image you want. You can add chromatic aberration into the raw high-quality image much more easily than removing CA.Same for black and white photos, same for blurry effect photos.
