How do you grip?
>>8024432wtf it works i mean can't see shit captain but the line is super clean
>>8024432I switch between dynamic tripod and dynamic quadrupod.
>>8024432I stick the pen down my urethra and draw as I do my daily kegel exercises to move the pen around mandated by my wife's boyfriend. He can render just the way the normies like and is teaching my through esoteric methods how to get out of /beg/ because I'm a helpless no draw chud.I thought he was fucking me at the beginning, just like he does my wife, but when i hit the 476th day benchmark something happened deep inside of me, I could feel the necessary taint clenches, the amount of it, the feel of the drawing just by looking at it. To this day everytime I see a high /int/ or /adv/ artist that made it at work, my butt clenches with each of their pen strokes, following the brush strokes involuntarily with my taint. My penis has become one with the pen, I've unlocked methods far beyond the mere human capabilities, within my prior hubris laid a veil, under it was the comprehension of the knowledge I was not ready to grasp. The "pen is" not what makes the artist but the way he holds it.
>>8024432Evolutionary psychology found that the thumb+index finger combo (OK) is the universal hand sign for precision and probably always has been. Putting the pen between a "pointing" thumb and index finger just makes sense.Maybe for bigger drawing you'd use the shoulder more and then you hold the pen straight down like a router.
>>8024432I wish people stopped pretending it’s an exact science. You can draw shit lines with any grip and vice versa. You can develop the many -itis with any grip. Even with rest and stretching.Believe what you want. Make a decision. And do it. Most of us will not make it anyways.

>>8024447(You) get an unfinished sketch I made a year ago that has been collecting dust in my "art" folder
like a fucking autisti cradle my drawing instrument with all 5 fingers like a sperg. when i draw on an upright canvas at face length i inadvertently push my pinky finger against the bottom of the pen to the point where it causes noticeable discomfort after prolonged drawing. i fear that continuing to draw like this will cause damage in the long run to my hand but fuck it im not relearning how to hold a pencil until im forced to
What about this kind of grip?
>>8024432I have only ever seen women artists do this retarded grip
>>8024454That’s the ‘tism grip
>>8024451What’s the point of posting something you made a year ago? Haven’t you improved at all in that time? Wouldn’t you want to show something that is more representative of your current level, or has your skill not improved at all?
The humble Wine Grip with a pencil

>>8024652anon... I gotta be frank I've done nothing but drawn goonslop for the past year. Maybe something about the urethra pen? I don't know desu.Real talk is, only thing that improved is the rendering, and speed of which I draw, which means jack shit imo. Here's one request from /aco/ I did yesterday, I usually go there for ideas because I'm a creatively bankrupt chud.
>>8024693So this is the power of 'that grip'...
overhand + pretty loose tripod.
>>8024432>picI think that just forces you to not use your fingers or wrist
>>8024432it depends on the angle of the line im trying to hit and what im using. on traditional im usually holding the pen as far back as i possible can in a really loose tripod which gets me the more american circley kinda forms, but on digital i cant really hold the stylus like that because the screen just doesnt have the friction for me to do that precisely, so i use a low quad, and for lines that go up or left to right typically ill switch to a more underhanded tripod, but theres a few more than that.i think if you bother figuring out your specific use cases for certain grips it can really help sometimes, but its really not very important. we could do most of the job with the retard grip and good arm movement.also i think people kinda glorify hook grip, its not that great imo, only really useful when youre doing something rather large.
>>8024432>>8024454Toddler hands, toddler grip lmaoLearn how to play guitar and you'll learn how to use your fingers and fine motor control
>>8024721>before you can hold a pencil, you must master through the fire and the flames at 200% speed
>>8024693I need to put the pen in my urethra RIGHT NOWBlog? Love the face made put of hands
>>8024432>How do you grip?Like I do with my penis; with both hands.
>>8024761I have been training like a monk in the mountains for a decade, I have no name.
dynamic tripod master raceyou also hold the pen really high up for drawing
>>8024432it doesn't matter how you hold the pencil, just do it the way is most comfortable to you.
>>8024736Learning how to type on a keyboard and not a phone also helps with fine motor control.

/thread=closedMost important thing is to have a loose grip. Only a relaxed hand/wrist/elbow/shoulder is able to do precise work.
