Some of you say you practice a lot. Yet, whenever I call someone on this and have them do a practice session with me, they stop after an hour... when I can easily go for 4 on a bad day and 8-10 on a good day with absolutely no distractions. Was the real clearpill all along, that you're all just lazy and that "asian jeans" is just work ethic? Studies have shown that 4 hours of study is the ideal retention zone, yet most of you can't even do one hour. Why is that?I'm tempted to host a drawpile this weekend where you people who claim to study a lot and never make any gains are welcome to study with me for at minimum 4 hours.
Everybody lies.
>>8026197idk why do you care? its their life not yours. its not hard to sit down and make some art for you or me, but some people just cant for whatever reason. i dont think its really their fault, they probably just have a hard time forming habits.
if your studycel method was any good you would have posted it your work to show evidence that it is worth the effort
>>8026201You're absolutely right, its your lives, I could give a fuck. However, I'm saying this because of the deterministic narrative on this board that claims some people are just gifted, when the reality is most people literally just don't understand how much time masters and pros put into it. They write it all off as talent because it excuses them from trying.>>8026202You're welcome to study with me this weekend.
>>8026197I think it'd be cool to have a study buddy where we just share our screens to hold each other accountable do you have a discord?
>>8026197You have MOTIVATED me to study for four consecutive hours today
>>8026197When you sit down to “just draw”, but you don’t know how to draw and don’t know how to acquire those skills, it’s easy to immediately get super discouraged. I think that’s why so many people here burn out so fast.If you have concrete goals in mind and can see that you’re making progress on those goals it’s a lot easier to go for way longer
>>8026197I just started learning and I spend about 4 hours per day on average doing practice on the basic fundamentals I'm probably gonna do another 4 hours of boxes today
>>8026197>>8026200i rarely lie
>>8026203what about having talent for being able to work? have you ever thought about that? maybe some people lack the genetic makeup to draw 4-8 hours every day
>>8026197I... I... I lie a lot... Because I want to be special...
>>8026284Based box bro. I genuinely look forward to doing boxes right now, it feels good to get instant feedback on whether you were correct or not
>neet flex, no work postedWhatever mane>I'm saying this because of the deterministic narrative on this board that claims some people are just gifted, when the reality is most people literally just don't understand how much time masters and pros put into it.Can't disagree with this, thoughever.
>>8026203Literally no one on this board has ever said that some people are gifted or have "talent"
>>8026384That’s literally all this board ever says. Are you ok?
>>8026197>yet most of you can't even do one hour. Why is that?I have this thing, it's called a JOB. If you wanna pay me a six figure salary to draw I'm down to do 8 hours a day though.
why is anyone replying to this when OP didn't even prove he isn't lying himself
>>8026197Maybe they take breaks every hour?
>>8026221I only drew for 2 hours and 42 minutes. My MOTIVATION wasn't strong enough
Honestly, I used to draw for hours at a time. But, I take frequent breaks and gotta stop sometimes due to chronic pain flare-ups.I think a Drawpile sounds so lovely, though ! I would love to see how that goes c:I hope you find the best folks to have drawing sessions with. It's really hard these days with how awful everyone's attention spans and dopamine receptors are. It makes me really sad, because I love and miss having drawing friends.
hey op like this^ anon said, go for it, open that public drawpile session for us to just chill and study together, because that sounds so nice, however long rl lets us each join. i’d enjoy playing with all of you.
>>8026778oh but i’m gone every weekend, except late sunday night. i could duck in for a few hours in the evening on most weekdays, though. would be cool if you made it sooner, if it’s a thing. any day would be great really
>>8026197I dont practice, I draw. That's the difference between you and me. Can you create back to back finished pieces for 4 hours straight? Can you draw 6 anime girl pinups in 4 hours and have all of them go viral?
>>8026197The real clearpill is fun ethic. These fake ass niggas can’t be forced to have fun for longer than an hour because that was their computer time allocation in their mother’s household. That’s what causes people to waste 13 hours a day.
>>80261978 hours should be the minimum for any serious person wanting to make art into a career, thinking you can make it doing only 1 hour a day is delusional
>>8026889I wish I could explain this to a certain friend.Seeing these kinds of folks reminds me that I actually am not as delusional or crazy as I think I am, and it could be a lot worse
>>8026889I mean it's repeated by all pros and people in the industry. If you're trying to become good, you have to live and breathe art. People legitimately just don't understand the amount of hours and mileage they put in. They frequently have health issues and injuries because of how much they draw
>>80265192 hours and 42 minutes more than you would have otherwise. Good job. Build up your mileage little by little.
>>8026889this board is so FUCKING DUMB
>>8026197I feel like I can't align my brain with my urge to draw.It feels like I missed some part of my mental development, like I'm missing some baseline mental function that other people have
>>8026889Quality is more important than quantity.
>>80272534 hours of high intensity problem solving: 3-Tier Cognitive Load ModelTier 1: High Friction (Targeted Deliberate Practice)What It Involves: Isolating specific weak points, strict timed drills, high-repetition error correction, new theory integration.Max Effective Time: 2 to 3 hours.Tier 2: Medium Friction (Application and Synthesis)What It Involves: Putting isolated drills into a broader context, iterative project work, problem-solving without time pressure.Max Effective Time: 3 to 4 hours.Tier 3: Low Friction (Passive/Reflective Review)What It Involves: Breaking down reference material, organizing assets/notes, reviewing past attempts, planning next drills.Max Effective Time: 1 to 2 hours.4 hours low friction work with a focus on tier 2 and 3 to avoid cognitive burnout. For a neet with absolutely nothing else to do and with the desire to structure their days, an 8 hour work day would be:09:00 - 11:00 [TIER 1 - 2.0 hrs] High-friction drills. Isolate weak spots, brute force error correction, pure mechanics. No podcasts, no second monitor.11:00 - 11:15 Take a break. Touch grass, drink water, don't doomscroll.11:15 - 13:15 [TIER 1 - 2.0 hrs] Advanced theory, complex problem sets, push out of comfort zone until brain is fried.13:15 - 14:30 Lunch / gym / walk. Total screen disconnect so your brain can actually consolidate the morning grind.14:30 - 17:00 [TIER 2 - 2.5 hrs] Applied project / speed run. Take the morning concepts and build a full piece/scene. Workflow speed and context over perfection.17:00 - 17:15 Step away from the desk.17:15 - 18:15 [TIER 3 - 1.0 hr] Master breakdown. Reverse-engineer pro work, draw/model over references, analyze lighting and topology.18:15 - 18:45 [TIER 3 - 0.5 hrs] Log today's biggest fuckups, save reference boards, prep tomorrow's Tier 1 target, turn off the PC.You'd have to work yourself up to this mileage however. Trying to go this hard without working up to it would fuck you over.
>>80268894 hours with breaks is good enough per day
>>8027263The better you are at art, the worse you are.
What? You lot are drawing? I dont and I was under the impression that I would find good company on the 4chan.Goodness gracious, where must I travel to then? This "captcha" contraption is not working for heaven's sake!
