After a long time of doing digital. I picked up a real pencil for the first time. Any tips on how to use it?

Practice just making lines for a while. Mark a point on the paper, mark another point far away, and then quickly draw a line connecting the two points with one smooth arm motion. Notice the differences in line quality that come from different types of motions

Draw straight lines. Long ones. Engage your elbow and shoulder. Do it on a piece of paper, many many lines until it turns black.
