i am not drawing anything illegal or nsfw i am just a paranoid schizoid and i do not want anyone to know my personal identity. everywhere i have looked online has given me conflicting info so if any anons who have more experience in this area could give me some tips (heh) on how to set up commissions in a way that would keep my privacy i would very much appreciate it.

thank you.

sorry, i’m not sure nowadays, op. so same question here, and does anyone know what method’s best for receiving payment these days?
>>
There's no option that doesn't require giving some middleman your personal information at some point in the process. But if you want to hide your personal info from your clients, you can use a PayPal business account, use sites like Vgen, or take payments in crypto.
>>
Vgen allows nsfw art and keeps you anonymouse. Patreon is also anonymous. You can withdraw your balance with Paypal.

you don't, the wild west days were over a decade ago
you can insist on crypto, but good luck with that

paypal business absolutely doesn't protect you, half of europe legally requires paypal to supply your legal name to anyone paying you
>>

nope, sorry, thanks to the totally legal plagiarizing machine you have to livestream/timelapse yourself making art, and in a year when ai can replicate that, you will need to do it while naked and doing a handstand. all of this so indians can scam better. thanks ai!

thank you for your response.

yes sorry i should have specified i only really care about hiding my personal information from clients, i set up a paypal business account today and made a 'test' invoice to see how it works and i understand that for your email/phone/address you can choose the option to hide it from the customer, but for my first and last name there was no option for that. i did have the option to just delete my first and last name from the field and leave it blank though. would removing my first/last name from the invoice cause issues to my account down the line and do they automatically get filled in even if i remove them after the fact, or will it be left blank if i remove them?

also how do things like ko-fi work for anonymity is that basically off the table no matter what even if i have a paypal business account?
i should have said in my OP i am living in burgerland btw.

I thought you can just withdraw payout with bank transfer for both vgen and patreon. So you can 100% avoid paypal. Unless I misunderstood. Like for example, not every country is supported and needs paypal.

Seems true for most countries. Even most shitty 3rd-world countries.

https://help.vgen.co/hc/en-us/articles/40469294324503-Which-countries-does-VGen-support “Vgen payments”’s bank transfer uses stripe, but you don’t need a stripe account, just your local bank account. So different set of eligible countries than the one on stripe’s website.

https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/39694936541965-Payouts-guide-for-creators-outside-of-the-US under “Eligible payout countries…”

I know it wasn’t like this before. But it seems you can avoid paypal in most cases now. Not just in terms of privacy, but you know, the random bans.

Kofi unfortunately only has stripe and paypal as option.
Substack only has stripe iirc.
Gumroad can do bank transfer too. There’s a list of eligible countries too.

it doesn't matter where you live, if the client's country requires paypal to supply your name and address on the receipt, the client sees your name and address, because otherwise paypal can't operate in the country
>>
>>8030270
In fact, I'm 90% confident some states have those requirements, I remember people complaining about stripe printing their phone number on the bank statement

thank you for your help. i will look into trying to get a vgen account set up instead then if that is the only option.
>>
>people unironically recommending vgen and paypal business accounts as services that don't dox you
i thought people were learning when they slowly stopped suggesting ko-fi as an anonymous payment option but i guess not
