Do you know any artists whose commissions are quite expensive? All I see everywhere is the third world undercutting everyone and making shit for 50 bucks or less, where are all the actual artists making 1k+ for illustrations?
Very few. It's tough to compete with the 3rd worlders because of their "undercutting" but of the ones I've met most of them are scared of making too much and being robbed or jailed. So it isn't a problem that will be solved any time soon.
>>8030290>but of the ones I've met most of them are scared of making too much and being robbed or jailedCan you elaborate?
>>8030289lerapi/aleriia_v is quite expensivehttps://aleriia-v.carrd.co/#commissions
>>8030320before ai i would have absolutely shit on this cookie cutter rendering on top of boring forms. but now i get it, get that bag sis.
>>8030320do you know anyone else with these prices?
>>8030320Like too much cottage cheese stuffed in a garbage bag
>>8030320>bisexual tranny from russia living in brazil drawing bland porn for $1kAnd here you'd think a thirdie living in an even thirdier shithole would be humble
>>8030294robbed>monkey1 see monkey2 having lots of bananas>monkey1 decides it should be his bananas>monkey1 kills monkey2if you live in 3rd world countries, nothing you earn you can even spend because others are constantly watching youjailed:>making porn in countries were the selling/distribution of porn is illegal and making too much money will attract the attention of the governmentprobably asian or muslim countries or somethingshit's fucked upthe only way to make money with art is porn or winning the art lottery and you have to instantly flee your country if you want to keep doing it
>>8030398judging by the way you talk you're probably a capital-worshipping rightoid cargo cultist so i really shouldn't have to explain supply and demand to you but she can sell her art for as much as people are willing to pay for it
>>8030398the prices are justified. There are 10+ hours going into these.
>>8030289I can see vulva meat
>>8030320>minimum is 350 for face>1.4k for a full bodyuhthe question is whether people actually pay those prices now that the slop machine can shit out these type of generic pin ups
>>8030413she makes most of her money on patreon, if you check her socials comms get posted very rarely
>>8030407>10 hoursThat's $100 an hour
>>8030407how much you work or your effort in never a justification for prices. The justification is how much people are willing to pay for it.
>>8030459It's more than 10 hours but even then art is supposed to pay more than being a wagie. It's only cheap because retards make it cheap, a specialist job should always pay good.
>>8030289milesDF and thesociallyawkwardpenguin charge multi-thousand dollar commissions.milesDF used to be pretty good but he's gotten lazier and his art looks like AI slop because i bet the AI was trained on his work and artists like him.thesociallyawkwardpenguin is quite talented but he doesn't draw anything that isn't giantess furries and he makes them way too fat for my liking (i am a fitgirl enthusiast). he seems to like skaven a lot.i have noticed that vgen artists are easily 50% to 30% the price of artists on furaffinity. vgen seems to have newer artists underselling their work on purpose so that they can get a reputation going and get enough commissioned works to get verified. they tend to shoot up their prices once they have the checkmark. but vgen still ends up being lower in price because there's just soooo many artists that even talented ones have a lot of competition from the third world. the third world benefits from having a global audience and a lower cost of living. blame globalism, it isn't their fault. i'm a customer looking for good quality art at the cheapest prices imaginable, and they're sellers who post their own prices.
>>8030289magister rate is up to 220/hour
>>8030487>charging by the houris this gonna be like construction workers spending 20 years to build an overpass because they're incentivized to be as slow as possible for maximum profit?
>>8030460normally, the inner commie in me would be seething at the mouth over such a comment. but artists aren't big corporations that dominate an entire market and get welfare from the state when they fail. each artist is a small independent creator with no direct ability to manipulate the market in their favor. there are thousands of artists to choose from and plenty of them draw well and charge rates i can afford. i'm always looking to find someone who charges very little, but i'm perfectly willing to either ask for a second commission right off the bat, or add expensive add-ons like a background or alts or extra characters. the only way this would really be unethical would be begging artists to lower the prices they have already set for themselves because i'm unwilling to find someone in my budget.
>>8030495>artists aren't big corporations that dominate an entire market and get welfare from the state when they fail>but i'm a nigger who's looking for cheap work and anything else is unacceptable
>>8030400retarded cope, 3rd world countries don't have massive inequality because they can't spend money lmaowe've had regular posters from honduras that made burger money
i can't deal with these unfunny niggas pretending to be illiterate, anymore
>>8030403No, if anything, charging more because people are suckers is closer to your rightwing boogeyman. This needs to be regulated.
>>8030520Pictures are not necessity, it's like paying a stripper. At some point of more people would pay just because it makes them feel better. Seething at the level of inequality maybe justified, but at your inability to throw away money harder is brainless monkey. The other side is similar—saying you should only agree to dance up to a certain limit is unjustified and silly
>>8030289>where are all the actual artists making 1k+ for illustrationsold established artists that boomers/genX/elder millenials care about can make a lot of money on commissions and auctioning original art. This will be physical originals mostly, and the buyers are fans and hobbyist collectors. Sometimes these artists sell signed prints too.
>>8030624the thread is about digital only, talking about physical is retarded when the value can be between 1 dollar and 1 million dollars
>>8030631op said art, so it's explicitly about trad only
>>8030496why would i pay extra money for the same quality of work if someone else is readily willing to work for less? i will gladly pay more money if i have to, but i won't if i don't have to. i'm not a charity. people like you are the reason why customers are routinely guilted into leaving 20% tips at restaurants instead of the business just charging more upfront and paying their employees better.
>>8031032The irony of this post is so delicious
>>8030499Pretty sure that the creator of Flappy Bird gets robbed regularly.
>>8031032>why would i pay extra money for the same quality of work if someone else is readily willing to work for less?To support your local community? To ensure that money doesn't leave your country? Thus support your domestic economy? To support your fellow countrymen? To support your local arts and culture? To help keep the domestic pay rates healthy?...Ah right, but fuck all that, what do you owe your country? You got something a bit cheaper, fuck everyone else. Traitorous cunts like you are what turn first world countries into third world ones.>20% tips at restaurantsNot equivalent and irrelevant.
>>8031164i want a world free from nationalities, borders, and governments, so your nationalistic bent is kinda weird.
>>8030489>is this gonna be like construction workers spending 20 years to build an overpass Yeah, that is like every hourly pay job.
>>8031606people like you get stabbed by niggers en masse, weird to be someone who advocates for their own death
