Me and my 2 friends all lost a bet by getting a stalemate and all had to draw something as the penalty. Rate whichever of us did his best to help us find the victor...
And also try to find the guy who says he wants to become a digital artist.

I like the red dragon the best
>>
I'd say we've all lost the bet, now.
It's good that you regard drawing as a penalty.
That's the right mindset.

Obviously, the butterfly wins.
>>
Voting red dragon, middle guy wants to be an artist.
>>
red dragon, fuck anime and fucking espteintards
>>
>>8033716
You guessed it.
>>
>>8033716
By the way, what made you think its him in particular?
>>
>>8033850
Nta but it's anime and most wannabe artists wanna do anime at least when they're starting out
>>
>>8033883
>most wannabe artists wanna do <the single most popular style worldwide for commercial art / animation> when they’re starting out
Wow, that’s pretty crazy!
A lot of professionals want to do anime too, surprisingly enough!
>>
>>8033999
your personal offense to their statement made you miss the point entirely. Anime is a lot more accessible than starting with realism. To clarify because you're clearly a presumptuous retard, I'm not saying realism is more difficult or superior to anime
>>
>>8033999
congrats on wanting to draw in a style that everyone else is already drawing in.
I'm sure you will make something just as unique and interesting as the millions of other artists who are pumping out variations of naruto and dragon ball z slop.
>>
>>8034211
but mr.autist you don't choose anime because of style but because it's appealing and because you have story to tell...
>>

Although I can respect the goal of trying to come up with new innovations in the domain of pure visual art itself, I also think it’s kind of a futile endeavor. People have been painting for millennia. The possibilities are played out at this point. Are you really going to come up with a radical new way of representing the human figure that no one ever thought of before? Really?
Let’s just look at the ~70 years or so since anime was invented. Do you know just how many people worldwide have experimented with different art styles for comic books and animation in that time period? Do you know how many people have tried to come up with their own variations just on anime alone? And yet everyone keeps ultimately circling back to the Standard Anime style. That’s what everyone converges on. That’s what people want, it’s what people like, it’s what people draw. If there was something better than anime, wouldn’t one of those thousands (if not millions) of artists have found it by now?
Personally, I’m with >>8034221 I’m not trying to become the next Picasso, I’m trying to tell stories, and anime is the perfect tool for allowing me to tell those stories. If you want to be the next Picasso then good luck. Although I’d encourage you to remember that Picassos can only flourish in specific historical circumstances. It’s not JUST a matter of being an individual genius; you also have to apply your genius to a field where there are problems that are ripe for solving, a field where there are still unexhausted possibilities. I’m not convinced that pure painting still has any unexhausted possibilities.

something than do not exist
>>
>>8033419
Whoever painted the dude on the far right with the corridor background is the best artist
>>
>>8034386
Genshin Impact. ZZZ. Standard anime style. You’re just being deliberately obtuse if you’re pretending to not know what it means, or if you’re going to split hairs over how AKSHUALLY you can see the difference between a gacha and a TV anime, etc
>>
>>8034369
>The possibilities are played out at this point
Not even close
>>

the dragon is the most complete feeling drawing. The person drawing it also favoured simplicity and consistent palette over something more complicated they couldn't execute properly.
It's crude, and childish, but not lacking in charm or aesthetic. Everything else feels lazy and half assed.
Also tell your friend who wants to be artist, you either are or you aren't. Don't want to become what you want to become, just become it.
also tell him I said

You don't say!
>>
>>8034397
Essentially nothing new has happened in pure painting itself for 100 years now.
All of the “innovations” in art from the mid 20th century onwards were in sculpture, performance art, conceptual art, etc.
>>
/ic/ will turn literally anything into an easy vs west thread huh
>>
>>8034431
And then you wonder why these people can't draw anything.
>>
>>8034399
I did, but what is that supposed to mean? He didn't get it either.
>>8034431
I was shocked when I saw that too. I guess I am still glad for all of the bumps
