Nowadays, it’s self-employment or death as an artist. It’s pointless to prepare yourself for a future that no longer exists for 99.9% of all artists.Draw nsfw art because it's what you want. No need to worry about giving some HR lady the -ick years later.

The trick is to be professional and to also just have separate portfolios, which you should have even for your sfw stuff anyway. Portraits aren't going to help you get hired as an environment artist, mecha and car drawings aren't going to get you hired as a creature designer, and showing off a library of body horror eldritch abominations isn't usually going to go well with a children's book publisher, unless they're doing a resurrection of Goosebumps I suppose.The much bigger problem right now is that the entire media industry is currently on fire and no one really knows what the future landscape is going to look like.
