>popular JP artist is selling an online course
>it basically just boils down to setting up 3D assests in CSP and tracing over them
>>
names??
>>
>>8036178
Even doing that right takes practice.
>>
>>8036178
can you do it?
>>
>>8036186
>>8036193
>>8036184
I dont need a course to learn how to do that
>>
>>8036213
That wasn’t the question…
>>
>>8036193
yes, i did it in like an hour
>>
>>8036184
He's 100% talking about Nekojira
>>
>>8036213
Maybe, but a lot of people probably do need it. Otherwise every tracer would have learned by now. It's hard to learn how to internalized what you traced instead of just tracing and hoping it works.

I've been tracing for two years now and when I last month tried to construct a figure with no help and it was ego-destroying
I'll just keep tracing forever, thank god for local 3d programs and my 2TB filled with downloaded models of all body parts and animals and shit
>>
>>8036257
>>8036178
coul also apply to ixy

They all do it, sorta annoying. Guess I should get in line though
>>

Nekojira is malay SEAnigger
>>
>>8036603
this is like finding out Santa Clause isnt real. What the fuck
>>
>>8036178
>>8036603
The most unappealing method ever. I would use it as a crutch and for background base but if it was a permanent part of my workflow especially with generic character drawings like this I'm killing myself.
>>
>>8036635
You're already killing yourself by wasting your time posting here instead of drawing
>>
>>8036178
>suddenly, this is good thing because it's done by a nip
>>
drawing figures is not that hard faggots
>>
>>8036551
That should be raising alarm bells. A 3D model is supposed to be an aid much like a photograph, not a replacement. You're outsourcing all of your drawing skills to software, essentially. Even great artists that heavily used reference like Leyendecker and Rockwell still knew how to draw, they just exaggerated and used the reference as a guide.
>>
>>8037562
Not related to the thread, but how someone learns to draw like this? It looks all so accurate, blocky, and fluid.

what the living fuck is this?
>>
>>8037562
Drawing from imagination seems to be the ultimate goal of all artists, but I can't help but find it amusing how most if not all industry professionals still rely on photobashing and tracing 3D models and don't have any problems with it.
>>
>>8037575
No rules, only tools
>>
>>8036184
ixy for one. used to worship his ability to draw hands. then he started uploading videos revealing he just poses models and draws over them. fucking broke my brain. and the thing is I don't even want to follow that, there is zero fulfillment in tracing. it revealed to me that he has zero passion and treats the hobby like a job; output, efficiency, that's what he cares about. so fuck him. he might as well use AI
>>
>>8037851
You're holding yourself back while IXY has more followers than anyone actively posting on this board combined and then some.
>>
>>8037851
that’s disappointing
>>
>>8037820
it's a big difference in mindset
the amateur cares about skill growth, i.e. is ego-driven
the professional cares about the work, and uses anything that could make his idea better
>>
>>8037855
The professional has the skill already, what even is this comparison?
>>
>>8037859
they got their skill by using references, putting their ego aside, and doing quality work
it doesn't come from nowhere
>>
>>8036178
At that point is it any different than prompting and tracing over that?
>>
>>8037866
not much
>>
>>8037866
Not exactly. You can rig and manipulate 3D assets into just about any scene you want, AI still struggles to follow directions with prompts and it will take a while to get something you can actually work with.

I've tried it, and models like GPT tend to default to formulaic generations that are like always 3/4th perspective
>>
>>8037869
What if you feed a rough sketch of thr pose you want for img2img?
>>
>>8037894
its 50/50 results with img2img. Either way its the same- youll spend like half an hour prompting trying to get something worth while
>>
>>8037913
I see. I have no experience with this workflow but figured AI should've more advanced at guessing what you want based on the massive shilling everywhere.
>>
>>8037575

People photobash/trace AI straight up. This is becoming more and more popular, as people see others doing it. Why construct from the base when you can prompt some anime girl and draw over it?
