>>8040198Yeah, I'm with ya, I've had that same argument in the exact same two fandoms you mentioned, and a lot of people within them did everything they could to try and distance themselves from the umbrella of furfaggotry. I mean even in the earlier days of the MLP fandom, before EQG, ">no hooves" was used to joke and poke fun at off-model art, and people didn't seem to get that they were just advocating for more feral art to be created.You see something similar with sonicfags going ">Neck" when the proportions of Sonic characters are more humanized anthro-like. It all effectively just funnels the "Trve and Kvlt" artstyles into more niche corners of furry stuff, while still being under the furry circle for outside observers.

Proud of this one, but looking for some feedback. I take sooooo damn long with the first strokes, brushing and undoing and it's a bit frustrating. It's a bit difficult to visualize the drawing looking appealing at all until I'm painstakingly out of the sketch. I was wondering if I could get a look-over on my process and see if someone can point out any potential obvious flaws about it to see if there's something I could aim to get better at next time. I feel my character design didn't particularly help this piece, it lost a bit of the charm it from greyscale to color. First time doing greyscales first without gradient mapping. I still don't have a sketching method for the face that works for me every time, I feel that's something to work on already. I should also block out the body myself.On the plus side, the four or so people I showed the greyscale to were properly caught off guard by the face in the back which was exactly the intended effect, so that's a success. https://files.catbox.moe/1m09jo.mp4

Could someone help me with how the hell am I meant to construct furry heads? I've been trying to learn how to draw renamon on my own by copying 3gs' art of her, but I cannot figure out how to intuitively draw the head shape from different angles.

Sometimes she's drawn with a short kemono-ish face shape, while others draw more from her official design (Which is kinda like an elongated turnip).If you want something closer to the OG, imagine more a cone attached to a sphere, where the tip of the cone is the snout. From there you can work with defining the muzzle planes to give it a more western furry appearance that's still recognizable as renamon.

>>8046940I've been working with oils for a while (Never did a furry painting, unfortunately) and they are surprisingly forgiving, far more than watercolors. Watercolors have an inherent chaos to them that you need to learn to let it work for you. With oils you can glaze, cover up and rework a surprising amount of times.
