Does comparing yourself to more skilled artists all the time actually stunts your growth and love for drawing, or is it totally valid if you're willing to catch up to the by sheer brute force (as in, drawing 5+ hours per day and following strict study schedules)?

spend less time making useless threads
spend less time thinking about drawing
spend more time actually drawing

>Does comparing yourself to more skilled artists all the time actually stunts your growth and love for drawing,
It depends entirely on your temperament. For some people comparing themselves to better artists is completely demotivating, for others it's just a goal to achieve.

Yes, speedrunning burnout is great idea.

except if you are a professional working for commission there is literally no reason to rush, being fast is good when you need to be productive

else the only thing that matters is the final piece

also just like other anon said it depends on people it really comes down to how it makes you feel, if you get inspired to try harder and learn from them it's very good

only people who started before 2010 can say this comfortably. Including me. We were lucky to be born before social media.
