even the normies are started to notice it about nsfw artist....
Are you supposed to improve forever? You will reach a point where you are happy with your skills and draw for enjoyment.
>>8038600i dont speak english, anyone could explain what the picture is actually saying?
>>8038603>You will reach a point where you are happy with your skills and draw for enjoyment.Exactly>>8038605They expect the Sistine Chapel levels of improvement from people who stick to making NSFW art.
>>8038607oh i thought it's about being trapped with low views or something after you posted a single NSFW,because the social media algorithm is punishing you
>>8038600applies to sfw art as well, it's easy to stop trying new things if you've found something that seems to workyou need courage to flop
>>8038600Goon slop purgatory is only bad when the artist is bad.If they've got a good understanding of the forms and the general language/patterns of that particular artistic domain, then it's mildly tolerable at worst.People who lack that are just...I don't know how to put it.It's disturbing because they're trying to mimic sexual appeal, and failing to do so... repeatedly...It's as if they lack the self awareness to understand that what they're producing is sub-par, but that sub-par representation is somehow good enough (to them) to keep wanting to produce it.It just gets to a point where it's weird after a while if they're not improving. But I guess that's just the dark side of lust that's not often addressed. In the world of lust, the subject doesn't *have* to be beautiful or accurate. It just has to get you off.
>>8038603youre right, and to corroborate your statement: improvement is just one linear path into hyperrealism. If every artists in the entire world are improove-ing then what you'll see in galleries - both online and offline - are drawings and paintings that are indistinguishable to photography which makes you wonder why do i have to look at this thing at all if i can see this thing outside or on instagram; at best, with this improovement thing, you'll have those league of legend style of splash art where everything looks ordered, perfectly shaped, and categorized in terms of composition, but not necessarily impressive at all because it was the end game of semi realism artwork that cant go anywhere beyond that.stylization is the only thing that matters because its more personal, full of expression, and its way more logical to walk into someones gallery and appreciate their stylized art because you want to see THEIR rendition of it. And this applies not only in visual art but also literature as well
>>8038600Counterpoint, I only started really improving after starting to draw NSFW.
>>8038630Stylization and realism aren't ends of the same spectrum, this is prebeg cope. Once you draw an object perfectly, you start improving on how you present it or in how you use it for emotional impact and storytelling. Stylization doesn't give you more options or variety necessarily.
>>8038630Brown hands typed this
Why would i ever listen to normies that cheer for capeslop, are obsessed with performative nonchalance, think washing machines work on magic and believe realism is the pinnacle of artistry?
>>8038689>cheer for capeslopThe same capeshit that has been failling again and again for the last 5 years? Yeah dude, totally.
That's it, i'm adding performative to the list of words not to use for the next two years
Whoa, some artists stop improving at a certain point? What a genius fucking observation. I grant OP the retard of the year award.
>>8038600once your art is commercially viable there is no need to improve since the financial rewards are the entire point of the exercise. subtle improvements happen regardless. like a product everyone likes. are they going to suddenly change it and improve it 10x? fuck no. don't be stupid. nature doesn't work this way either. an apex predator won't change form for millions of years if it is successful. also diminishing returns and all that.
>>8038603>Are you supposed to improve forever?Yes. Your work dies and becomes boring when you stop taking risks.
>>8038617>but that sub-par representation is somehow good enough (to them) to keep wanting to produce itIronically this describes most of today's western artists in general. I guess it has something to do with cognitive resolution.
>>8040265Dangerously high cognitive resolution messaging.
>>8038617>People who lack that are just...>I don't know how to put it.>It's disturbing because they're trying to mimic sexual appeal, and failing to do so... repeatedly...>It's as if they lack the self awareness to understand that what they're producing is sub-par, but that sub-par representation is somehow good enough (to them) to keep wanting to produce it.They are not taking risks. They are behaving just like megacorps and trying to just expand expand expand and not piss off any of their audience out of fear. They operate within a "safe" boundary. A lot painted themselves into a corner (pun not intended) by falling for the undo meme, fucking with filters instead of learning color theory, and other crutches. So one finished piece takes them weeks when it should take only a few days. If it flops they have a melty to their friends. What you see is risk-aversion. Risk-aversion is ANTITHETICAL to sexual artwork. Sex is risky. Sex is ALWAYS risky. It's an interaction between people. There's no fun if you can easily predict what happens, it's why most people don't want to fuck literal dolls (and even those who do seem to have some kind of running narrative in their head.) The artist is carrying their anxiety about their work's performance INTO the work itself and it just ends up being insecure and boring.
>>8038766I just saw an artist that had been stagnating for over a decade start visibly improving recently.
>>8038617I always thought they were the sort of people to hyperfocus on a fetish at the expense of the overall proportions. Like if you put giant tits (or human feet) on a cockroach they would still fap to that.
>>8038600how about you tell me how i am supposed to "take risks"? if i do anything i am not comfortable with it turns into a (fruitless) multiple day endeavor
Everyone in this thread should commit suicide right now
But i want to goon and don't have money to commision artist so i have to do it myself.
i have a near uncontrollable urge to draw porn because I'm too good at it
>>8041466But we have ai and comfyui now
>>8038600>even the normies are started to notice it about nsfw artist....Wow, is that some heckin white text on a black background!? I've never seen such solid evidence of public sentiment changing.Politicians and advocate groups could learn a thing or two from you OP.
>>8038600>puritan "subtly" bitching about nsfw artists existing thread #621
>>8038600>even the normies are started to notice it about nsfw artist....holy ESLstone this nigga to death immediately
>>8038603yes you live to be better, only thing that is constant in this universe is change...
>>8038603Truthnuke. Especially when AI now exists. The idea of making "perfect art" was always retarded. Just do it for enjoyment and then retire in happiness.
>>8038603There's always room for improvement. So why not learn forever? Do you really thing you can know it all? Nope, never.
>>8038600Not really true. They improve but...>sometimes they get very souless (the artist does almost only pinups, even worse in a void)>sometimes it gets a simpler style in order to increase the outputFunnily, the more they improve, the more this is likely to happen. Maybe because it happenes after they secure a big enough fanbase?
>>8045424Diminishing returns. No one will care or notice that you spent 10 hours polishing each eyelash or fingernail. Most people just doomscroll and see pretty pictures, before moving onto the next subject.
>>8038603I love how controversial this isIgenuinely think some artists have a peak style, and when they start adding to it is can ruin and over-render the style. To me, achieving a peak expressive style but learning other details, like the background and more perspective is optimal. Some styles benefit from less overdetailing
