How the fuck do people use drawing tablets? I just bought one and it is fucking impossible to draw, the distances covered are completely different and I cant draw a straight line without it making a wavy scribble.Technology is making me MAD

You just have to let it happen, don't try to "draw stuff", just draw what you can, lines, random shapes, let your hand-eye coordination get used to it.The real key advice, is to learn what your software can do, like using the stabilizing tool is a must, but some brushes don't need the stabilizer because they are built with unique features that let you draw almost freely, like some sketch brushes. You have to test them to understand the difference between them. You will have to be patient, at some point you will get it, without even notice it. You can't avoid that beginner struggle, there's no way to "calculate" when your hand coordination will begin to "work". You just have to keep drawing till it happens.

The tablet surface isn't always 16:9, and with that option it will cut out the surface in order to get you the same ratio as the monitor.Also, do you have a Wacom? If so, I didn't like the new driver, because it removed functionalities (I think it removed the sensibility curve customization). If you need, I can search which is the last good old version.

Most newbies with low budget should start with one of those, but hardly know what to do. specially nowadays that everyone sort of want to be at the same level as when they were using pen and paper.The first thing one should really try, is abandon pen and paper. at least while you are seriously training muscle memory with screenless. because its confusing to have 100% control over your lines, and lose 50% when jumping to screenless. you have to rewire your brain to understand all the changes you need to adjust to drawing looking in front of you, not at your hand. you have to understand that 1 cm in real life now is like 1.5 cm on screen, or whatever monitor you use. This is worst when you pair a 10x6 tablet, with a 27+ monitor .My advice for people looking for a screenless is always the same. pick second hand large intuos pro (4, 5, pro 2013, pro 2017) or a xp pen deco pro gen 2 XL, huion WH1409 v2 and pair ir with a monitor that is 24'' if you can, or not beyond 27'' because the bigger the difference in size btween monitor size and tablet size, the weirder it feels to draw curve lines accurately. and forget about inking with it in the beggining. its painful to do it, and you dont ever want to fall in the trap of only drawing using wrist movements.instead of jumping to precise linework, i sugest just sketching , or even painting with shapes because its a lot more forgiving with pen precision.to get better at linework with screenless: there is millions of exercises to warm up out there. like the ones present in the first chapter of draw a box. i did those when drawing on pen and paper with fineliner, and got on the habit of doing the same exercises when i got a intuos 4 large (re-reading the rules again every time i drew , since is about getting better control when doing lines with the shoulder, or forearm).is boring and takes a lot of time, but the payoff is huge.
I got a giga power spike after I changed from a screenless to a display tablett. some who used a screenless tablet for 4 years

I went back to screenless and the power level gained on the screen tablet got transferred back to screenless no problem. These cheap tablets are much more reliable and much less stressful. I just want to draw, all the rest of "extra" features on a tablet are needless and redundant.

When I use a straight edge on that tablet, the line on the screen comes out all wobbly and shit, you can hardly tell that it was supposed to be straight. >>8042310Never touched a Huion but with my Intuos I bought some nibs for the stylus that have a texture to it so it feels closer to drawing on paper. I also use a transparency sheet to protect the surface of the tablet and it does okay with that.

It takes practice. I have a Deco 01 V2. Make sure your tablet proportion the same as your screen and then you can do strokes more accurately.
