I occasionally post about Joseph Lambert, aka Submarine Submarine, who just completely dropped off the face of the earth.He was a celebrated artist who had people write articles about his sketchbooking, he had numerous published comic books, and even more indie work, had won an eisner, and then just disappeared. His consistently updated website died. He stopped posting to social media, and cleared those accounts. He's just gone.What's so strange to me is, despite all his accolades and awards, since he disappeared, I have seen no one else talk about him. Not a single fucking thing.They say the internet is forever, but people really can just drop off the face of the earth, and no one will even fucking notice or seemingly care, despite everything you've done.So many on this site make art because they feel that it's something that will outlive them, but if anything, this Joseph Lambert case makes me wonder if that's even really true. The forgotten may remain forgotten.
