Why are internet art communities so slow? All the art discords I’ve been invited to have been practically dead. Even the #general channels only get a few messages a day. It doesn’t take any time or effort to shitpost about random shit in the general chat.I know drawing is a more popular hobby than this so where is everyone?

If you really want art discords, go to youtube, find youtubers who purport to "teach art" or "give art tips", go into their discords, and in those discords look for invites to other discords (it's like surfing the web without a search engine). Eventually you'll find a discord that's sufficiently active for your taste.

I have been on a 20 Discord art servers in total and noticed that the most active shit-posters are also the people that barely draw. The best artists on servers usually just drop their works and that's it. I am not famous but I noticed with myself as well that the more I progressed skill-wise, the more willing beginner guys were willing to chat or befriend me, but once I became better their advice became useless to me. For every 10 beginners only 2 or 3 actually reach mid level instead of dropping out or stagnating and refusing to learn.
