Do you guys ever feel like it's a chore to finish a drawing or a painting after an our or so spent on it? For me, as soon as i spend 30 minutes on the rendering stage, i just abandon the piece, straight up.

It happens a lot when i'm painting, it's such a fucking chore to put all the brushstrokes and define the edges, values yada yada. BRO, i might be getting tired of rendering. I mean, why even do it anymore, i already know how to do it... I'd rather just draw and give it a fuckass basic shading. Idk, sorry. I didn't feel this when i was a beginner, i might be getting old.

just use AI
>>

My puter sucks, it can't run AI.
>>
>>8042640
do line drawings and skip the rendering theneverbeit. you could use some form/angles practice
>>
>>8042643
Use cloud services, crabs don't want people to know this but it's better than people realize. It just has a learning curve, but there are youtube tutorials for it
>>
>>8042646
can you upload an example of what the "crabs" dont want you to see?

I'm actually experimenting with that. Shading with a pencil is definitely faster.

I hate art, i'm going to sleep. Damn the person who invented it.

>>8042640
Try drawing trad instead of fake ass digital

> an OUR
The absolute state of these illiterate TikTok zoomers, holy shit lmfao. I can totally get why you can't finish a drawing, brain dead npc.
>>
you drop the most fun stuff? getting the dimensions and angles right is the harder part
>>
>>8042640
Yes, that is why I am a NGMI.

1 hour is a good time for a color study
for original stuff I can go for 10-20 hours, an hour is barely enough to come up with something interesting ime

Honestly, i might.

>>8042791
The thing is i used to like it, whenever i learned something new i would feel euphoric. Now i just know things and i do it for the sake of doing it, i guess.

>>8042807
I prefer grayscale to color, but i do color studies once in forever, it's fun. It's hard, tho.
>>
>>8042640
20 min. everything after that would be a refinement
i don't normally paint

are you 3dmodeling, rendering, then digitally drawing?
>>
>>8042903
Nope, so far i've only done paintings and drawings, but i wanna start 3d modelling soon.
>>
I used to, but somehow I'm getting faster (without any specific training for that), and painting is becoming less and less cumbersome with that, I used to spend around 8 hours rendering a portrait, but this week I painted a portrait in one sitting of around 3 hours, and the results improved as well.

also, your light values are way too bright, specially the skull. You need darker midtones. Also, the highlights on the vase are also too bright (looks close to pure white) and the cast shadows are way too dark and desaturated (looks close to pure black), and there's no reflected light. That kills the illusion of depth.
>>
>>8042640
this is the /int/ curse. When you are good enough that you can draw most things you want to draw, then it stops being as fun. When starting out, everything is new and you are constantly learning and improving with each drawing, but when you are good at anatomy, you're just going through the motions and hoping the end result is going to be good. If its not, then you didn't really make a mistake, the idea was just not that good and you need to find a new angle to take the drawing which isn't written in any book or course. The only way to improve at this point is to be randomly inspired by God or something. You need to gain life experience to improve your art after learning the fundamentals.

you are not that guy blud
>>
>>8042933
my words cut deep into you and you felt the need to respond, yet you refuted nothing. I suggest you take the truthnuke to heart and go draw.
>>
>>8042936
i already drew today and all i got in response to my efforts was some shitty porn and a wrist ache. i'll rate it a 99% chance you are not that good. post work and mog me to death come on
>>
>>8042939
I am not here to mog you, I am here to help. I only want to offer helpful advice that uplifts everyone.

For reference, I did a quick paintover of some things I might have done differently. I noticed you also didn't employ temperature shifts between light and shadow, didn't consider the subsurface scattering on the skull and it's planes are not well defined (which I didn't work on because it's a drawing issue and solving it would take too much time).
>>
>>8042929
This sounds more like the idiot-whose-drawings-suck-because-he-doesn't-plan-in-advance-and-doesn't-use-reference curse

More often than not the difference between the intermediate and the professional artist is that the intermediate artist seems to think he's Kim Jung Gi.

>>8042929
Guys, my point is i can paint or draw mostly anything now, but the process itself of finishing the piece feels like a chore because it's boring. I've done this shit a million times already.

Forgot to reduce the opacity of the rug texture layer and to soften some edges to make it look more painterly

Except i do draw, but i'm gonna agree with you so you don't feel bad.
>>
>>8042980
we all do =)
>>
>>8042668
Trad leads you naturally to finishing a piece whereas in digital you can be an infinite perfectionist nigger, constantly zooming in and moving things around.
>>
>>8043014
it also makes you commit better. erasers are fine and dandy, but paper also has useage marks, indentations of your pencil, scratches so you cant do too man mistakes and redraw sections as easy. if i misplace and angle an eyesocket to the point the person looks deformed, its not as easily fixed. especially if you notice it late. digitally you just lasso that nigga however you want. i see people constantly moving and spinning things in those digital time lapses.

>>8042966

>>8042909
yeah yeah, your shadows don't go dark enough and the reflections are too bright.
your study isn't accurate either, but if you get something out of it, that's good enough, ok?
>>
>>8042966
its not a rug its a book
