FUCK AMERICAN SATANIC SICK MURDERERS. Long live to the brave people of Vietnam.
>>8044947the fuckno way those stalks and roots were painted
>>8044947Like any other reason why people can draw a good thing: reference. How do people draw something so realistic? Reference; how do people paint and render thing meticulously? Reference; how do you draw something so fucking bad and awful? Lack of reference. Its all reference at the end of the day, reference, reference, and reference, all reference, your mind can only conceive or visualize ideas but not to the atom of details on how it works, you need a visual information: a reference, tons of reference. Artist job was to reinterpret that reference, the color reference, the composition reference, the shape reference, everything is all about reference
>>8044947Idk I don't find it that impressive, and even though >>8044989 is retarded it does all look like photo copies to some degree
just trace the photographs
>>8044947just put the right blob of paint in the right place. easy.
>>8044947Basically just the same thing as photorealistic Walter White pencil drawings.Completely uninteresting from an artistic perspective
>>8044947>>8044949>>8044950>>8044951>>8044952>>8044954made for BWC
>>8045035>Basically just the same thing as photorealistic Walter White pencil drawings.>Completely uninteresting from an artistic perspectiveI disagree. This isn't "photorealism," where every pore and strand of hair is delineated. Some of the backgrounds and even figures (see >>8044952 for example) are handled in way that is painterly and almost impressionistic. Yes, it is heavily reliant on references, but that's true of a lot of esteemed art. Norman Rockwell took photographs of costumed models and worked up his paintings from those (although not as slavishly as you might imagine). It's likely this artist follows a similar procedure. He still has to decide on the subject matter, theme, posing, composition, color, etc., none of which are considerations for the Instagram graphite human Xerox machines.
What medium is this? The figures themselves make me think watercolour, but the other elements make me think otherwise.

Gyatt indeed. Good thread.
>>8045072Despite being very photorealistic, these paintings have a lot of SOVL, how exactly do you achieve that? How do you capture the essence of a person and a moment into a painting?
>>8044947Comunist poor shit
>>8045114OP here, I drew this one as a reference then shamelessly used the color picking tool for the values & colors, whenever I try to do realism it always comes out looking comic-bookish at best, I know I shouldn't use such heavy outlines but even if I soften them it still doesn't look as realistic, is the key to just keep rendering for hours until it looks life-life?Also how do I figure out colors and values on my own?
I've always found realistic art fascinating, because these people pump out hours upon hours on something magnificent. What do they draw/color from imagination, though?I've never seen a realistic artist do both.
>>8045259You should not use outlines at all
>>8045316james gurney does both
>>8045357Doesn't he use models for his paintings?
>>8045349I think I found a sweetspot, I erased most of the outlnes and left the important ones, I also kept on rendering and it looks better now, don't know if it's my monitor or the fact that it has a white background but her skin looks purple to meI'll keep rendering until I'm satisfied with the result or when I get bored
