Do you use Gogh or Spirit City to keep productive while drawing?
>>
Nothing, just rawdog it till you hit the "zone"
>buh- buh- buh-
Shhhhhhh *puts finger on your lips and sensually slides it off whilst leaning in for a kiss*

>>
I put random YouTube videos about shit I don't care about as background noise. We probably have to do something about Discord, apparently every third user is fucking kids.

yeah :D
>>
I've used spirit city haven't seen gogh before but it looks way better I might get it so I can spend more time not drawing
>>
i did but it's kind of a hassle to get on. i use a stopwatch app on my phone instead
>>
>>8046992
Neither?
If you need help to “stay productive while drawing” then you’re doing something wrong
>>
>>8046992
looks interesting. saw the avatar needs a webcam, and I'm paranoid porn drawing weirdo who covers all the cameras on all devices...
Is the webcam aspect optional?
>>
>>8047249
>then you’re doing something wrong
Were your parents super strict or something? It’s really weird to label idle talk like this as “wrong”. Or are you just retarded and close-minded?
>>
>>8047255
See the recent post I made about "motivation" problems and how to fix them.
Not being close-minded or judgemental, just trying to help people. "Motivation" problems are always a symptom of a deeper underlying problem that you need to fix. But you CAN fix those problems. I'm just trying to help people, that's all.
>>
gogh is cool and happy that japGODS are able to use it but it doesn't work for me.
pomotimers however scientifically works but I prefer 50 minute timers because I actually enjoy drawing and that is the best thing I've found.

>>
>>8047278
Ah it's tough-love anon. That was my thread, your comments were insightful thanks again for your perspective. Deeper issues are a tough nut to crack tho and can take time - I think there IS a use for "hacks" and "help" with your "productivity" and "motivation", while you figure out how to start fixing the deeper stuff that's getting in the way. Can't just fix it overnight and go from drawing blood from a stone to healthy output. It's a process.
>>
>>8047278
>>8047302
Oh, I'm not OP tho. I spent the last week trying to draw, haven't made any new threads since then. I do think spirit city's a harmless bit of fun tho, have used it a little before

absolute truth. I needed years to realize that.
Any tool beyond a watch and a notepad program is a distraction or a cope.
>>
>>8047549
Good, that's settled that then

>>8047254
What's the answer to the webcam question? I'm a no-webcammer too
>>
how did the old masters draw without all this focus app and pomodoro crap?
>>
>>8049487

pomodoro is an Italian word
the renaissance happened in italy

Is there a version of this for people older than 12 so I don't look like a predator?

I don't pay attention I just type shit like "the community has a problem" on YouTube and pick whatever looks interesting.

Last week I worked on my tank studies while listening to 8 solid hours of everyone in a transgender cosplayer polycule accusing everyone else of rape, you had that blue chick from Re:Zero accusing Rouge the Bat and what I think was that femboy from ZZZ of fucking her in her sleep and the others saying they were choked a bit too hard during pet play.

Maybe I'd get more gains listening to Peter Han explain knee ligaments or something but I believe sometimes you have to try to learn about random shit you don't care about so you don't end up drawing the same half naked anime slut all the time, the tranny rape circle told me about two gacha and anime I'll try stealing from next week.
>>
>>8049793
I can believe that. I don’t see how this actually helps with motivation or whatever. Seems like the opposite; a distraction.
>>
>>8047007
i do the same except i listen to Destiny videos or Girlfriend ASMR

The heated arguing and unnecessary compliments get me to focus
>>
>>8047007
>>8049885
the argument and freakout videos remind me of my parents fighting which really help me get into the zone
>>
>>8046992
Used it briefly to fantasize about my own studio. I didn't use it regularly because it's only more friction.

no background noise for me during 4 AM pixel art sessions except for my german shepherd snoring gently in the living room and the refrigerator making scifi noises 2 meters behind me

life doesn't end if you don't die
>>
>>8046992
I don't get it, how the fuck is this supposed to help me focus on art?
>>
>>8052892
its supposed to eat your ram and hog your whole other monitor so you feel reluctant to open other things and just focus on your canvas while looking at your 3d self doing their work while chilling with music
>>
>>8047254
>>8049461
>>8049735
entirely optional, i've had gogh for a while and i don't know if it changes since but you had to dig in a bit to enable face tracking
>>
I boughted, I'll let you know how I do

Do you guys host or join other people's lobbies?
>>
>>8056699
havent joined any other lobbies since the chat/watch party update (not related to that update), before i only joined when this one chill mangaka was hosting a lobby, otherwise solo
>>
>>8056699
ive hosted for friends or join public ones pretty regularly but never chat/watch/whatever. sometimes ill leave a doodle if they have a canvas.
>>
If you want to draw digitally, or work on your computer, it seems silly to have this 'social program' running in the background, hogging your computer resources, that all you're really doing is alt-tabbing out off.
I'm not sure if I understand the appeal of this program at all, unless you're working traditionally and need a program to keep you away from the computer and hold you accountable for doing so?
>>
>>8056736
you can minimize it and have it at the bottom corner of your screen (or anywhere you want really) and control things like timers and stuff.
>>
>>8056736
this, i don’t really understand. the device i draw on doesn’t have a large enough screen to run more than just the program i’m using, and maybe one other very small window, which, if i’m using ref at all, will be it, and my device handles multiple windows, especially active ones, very badly, even if it’s this, so i usually just go without ref.
is it really that boosting to your productivity and your engagement in your work to be worth the bother?
>>
>>8056741
then it just means this app isnt for you lol no need to think so hard about it, grind your art more so you can upgrade your workspace. iirc gogh is also available on phone so there is that if you want a timer and conveniently made your phone unusable for procrast, use it.
>>
>>8056841
i don’t have a phone and like my device otherwise so don’t really want to switch to something larger and more expensive, but i’m glad for the response. i guess gogh’s handiness can very much change in relation to your your config/workstation, for one thing. thanks anon
>>
i don't think i get the appeal

Artists should have a second or even third monitor for references, videos, books, etc
