you ARE participating in #Inktober2026 aren't you?
>>
>one drawing a day all year long
now here's inktober with some chest hair
>>
>>8049592
Huh, this is the first I've heard of Inktober52. When does it turnover into the new prompt list? In October, or as the new year starts? The Inktober page itself doesn't seem to say.
>>
>>8049592
Didn't the guy who came up with this totally shit the bed by trying to copyright it and then claim ownership over everyone's art under the hashtag? And then everyone hated Inktober after that?
>>
>>8049619
yeah I don't know. but its still one of the biggest art hashtags of the year on social media
>>
>>8049592
I still can’t draw after trying for years.
And niggas wanna talmbout “participating” lmao
>>
>>8049619
not copyright, trademarked. You aren't allowed to use the logo
>>
No
>>
i guess. i'll be using a sharpie though
>>
No. And fuck you, fucker.
>>
I'll start drawing on the first of october and call anyone who starts early whatever slur i'll think of on that day because thinking about those early is also cringe.
>>
at the very least I think I will put #inktober tags on anything I post. I really don't like the prompt themes though. they're so stupid.
>>
I already participated last year.
>>
>>8049592
I hope you are not planning on using my highly intellectual property in your pictures anon
>>
>>8049619
Yup
>>
>>8049644
I don't see the problem. If you don't file a trademark someone else can snipe it from you and own it, it's not like copyright where you own it automatically.
You can use registered trademarks as long as it doesn't look like you're trying to pass your work off as an official product, but I don't think I've seen art with that logo anyway.
>>8049619
That's not how copyright or trademarks work, that's kids misunderstanding IP law as usual. Your ownership of your drawing can't be taken away if you use someone's character, you just automatically have split ownership, like all fanart. And trademarks are a whole different matter.
Using a hashtag in a tweet doesn't sound at all like a legally enforceable trademark violation, so this guy is either stupid or the reason is made up.

>you're trying to pass your work off as an official product
Why wouldn't my inktober run NOT be an official product?
Please explain

i'll do spooky related portraits again, mostly from movies. everyone does inktober, thats boring, no?
>>
>>8051554
If you are going to follow the official prompts sure
I take digital stuff, random shit
As long as it follows the original thing
If you use your own prompts or draw whatever, you should neck yourself honestly, after being gassed behind wooden doors.
The reason is very simple, this is an art related clout fest
If you just do your own thing you are trying to syphon out the algo to your own corner where you do your own thing, effectively thinning out the inktober clout

I'll try this one for a bit
https://x.com/airaniiofifteen/status/2104595849242370517
but drawing only vtubers sounds a bit boring and limiting. so i might just switch it up halfway or something.
im not a social media guy or whatever i just do these for fun
>>

VERY tranny coded
All of it
From the "multiple stickman to reduce fatigue" to straight up adding "furry" and "genderbend"

subhumans were selling sketchbooks with the logo he designed on it, coming off as official products for people to buy and participate in inktober with.

Kek this was my Inktober last year, but I'm committed to it this time.

I've also decided to make all my drawings Halloween-inspired based on the official prompt, so I'm hoping this motivates me throughout the month because I'm kinda excited thinking about it.
>>
>>8049592
No, it became a corporate soulless activity the moment they started selling merch years ago.
>>
>>8052501
nice cope nodraw

>Organize a marathon run for cancer awareness
>Hey guys! I'm going to run on my own marathon for spinal cord awareness instead, on this other route! Follow and subscribe!
It's not a flex, you are just syphoning clout
>>
>>8049592
>you ARE participating in #Inktober2026 aren't you?
No, I haven't participated in Inktober since 2018 with pic related and it had a rough pencil foundation before I finished it with ink.

Doing it every day? I simply don't have the time to lock into the event with all my other projects/content/commissions/audience commitments
>>
What's the purpose of uploading art before inktober or already knowing the prompts?

Most X "artist" are just copying AI anyways, shit sucks dick
>>
I guess I'll try.
Last year I actually finished within the time limit.
>>
>>8049592
I don't draw for fun.
>>
I'm going to give it a go, but I'm unsure if I'll make it all the way through.
I've had several false false starts with Inktober, and I was wondering why, but just as the day I had been planning to start preliminary work for the month came up... family showed up unannounced (they never arrange things)...

They do this at about the same time every year for some reason, and I just forget. So I'm always caught with my pants down for Inktober because of this.
This all said, I've got a good feeling about this year.
