I am too retarded to go from left to right. Fuck I cant even draw left because I cant draw proportions most of the time and shit comes out looking like Quasimodo.
Is this shit really what I need to stop being a permabeg?

there is no "anime head construction" its a cartoon, things are exaggerated for effect without regard for what it would look like if it was a 3d object
>>
N-nobody helped me...
>>
>>8051448
Like the OP image you start with a box. View the head as a box and not just a sphere and draw it from various angles, getting the perspective right. As a beginner you are not going to be able to tell whether the boxes are perfect or not, so also copy photos or even anime heads, but instead of just copying the 2d shapes try to draw a box around them and work out how the box perspective interacts with facial features.
Once you see improvement increase the complexity of the box. Add brows, cheeks, and jaws. Increase the complexity until you get the Asaro head. The asaro head will be your new best friend. Draw it from every angle. Draw it from memory. Compare it to photos and even anime heads and see how the planes fall into place.
Marco Bucci has a decent head drawing course on how the various features interact and are arranged into a cohesive 3d shape, but it's paid.

This is an excellent inbetween that will help you understand realistic faces as well as the pointed anime face. Copying these hundreds of time assisted me greatly.

Now start your studies.

What exercise helps with 3D planes?
I sit here and try to draw faces all day, but I can only get so far, because these eyes don't look like they're at an angle on the 3D face.

This is so painfully frustrating.

construction is not real. you are supposed to be able to directly draw a face from most angles by just imagining it

if construcion works then they should be drawing the reference at a new angle while keeping the likeness.

It's fucking hilarious seeing how westoids try to autistically decipher anime heads like if there was a hidden recipe to get them right, and failing miserably while at it.

Do the drawabox and brokendraw exercises until you spit blood.

Boxes are the fundamental primitive of construction, anyone who does not understand this is a boomer born in the previous century.
>>

https://warosu.org/ic/thread/7915551#p7915731
It is helpful to use a circle to constrain the box.
It may also be useful to think of box orientation in terms of roll, pitch, and yaw - which is how pilots describe airplanes.

That pic is from a chommang video. He does draw with the same likeness from different angles. He just copies the picture usually because you're supposed to follow along.

I can do better, yeah, though I coudn't practice too much in 2025 thanks to some health problems.

I wish I could focus on a single topic for weeks, but either my lazy ass or other things happening from time to time (mostly my lazy ass) don't allow me to practice as much as I should.

Probably the biggest issue I had with it is just attaching it to the skull and to the rest of the body. You can also see I had trouble with that very foreshortened head from below there. The way I see it is it's a good way to get started but you should still have some understanding of anatomy and perspective to get good use out of it. At the end of the day it's one method out of many and you should go with something that works for you.
>>
>>8050766
You need to internalize perspective. Since organic shapes are too hard for you, make a step back and start with simple stuff like copying furniture and still life.
