Anyone else just grateful to be able to draw?I've been very frustrated and sad because I can't draw like I want to, but at the same time I find drawing so much fun. Every aspect of creating art are basically endless possibilities to experiment with. I have so much fun trying to think of my own process, breaking down things I like in art, getting 'aha' moments, and see things slowly come together. Trying out new techniques, brushes, different color combinations, interesting perspectives and compositions. There's so much stuff to learn and master, and while the "return of investment" seems slow at times due to the nature of how much time it takes to create a piece and absorb everything you try to learn, the reward is still very satisfying and lasting. With that being said, I'm still a novice and struggle a lot with certain things like rendering, creating my own interesting compositions, and making a finished piece. And I easily get lost on the road. There have been many times where I've been so frustrated that I've dropped drawing for several months, only to return to it. It has a drag over me that never seems to fully let go, but perhaps it's just my ego that refuse to give up. Seeing artists on social media that are way better than me are both inspiring and depressing, creeping thoughts of self-doubt like 'I've been drawing for quite some time now, why can't I draw like that?' or similar. Yet I press on, and looking back at how I started and where I am now is a motivation in itself. Getting good at art is like solving an extremely complex puzzle, there are so many pieces you need to understand and have control of in order to unlock the bigger picture. Perhaps it's quite preposterous of me to ramble for some long, and share what little nuggets I have collected so far in my journey despite being a novice still, but I hope (You), the reader, find some semblance in what I've written.>TL;DR: keep drawing and discover the many rewards this craft can give you
>>8050809yeah I like drawing. I'm not doing this for the money.
>>8050809>able to draw:(
>>8050809>able to draw
I like to draw, yeah.
>>8050809I’d be grateful if I could just draw at a decent level.8 years of failure and counting
>>8050852Oops deleted text by mistake I know how you feel. I know I should buckle down and put in the work to get to the next level, but I do enjoy spamming my silly little drawings. At the same time I feel like a dork drawing my 'toons for zoomers who just want to look at big fuggin' anime tiddies. I guess I've been coming here on and off for so long I don't know where else to go. I guess I've got to get it out of my system somewhere even if I never make anything more out of it and I still enjoy being a part of this weird place even with all the tourists and spammers
So true OP. It gives me joy to simply be able to wave my magic wand and conjure an image.
I hate drawing but it allows me to feed my family in a third world country
