Is it too late to start doing digital art at 33I feel like picrel but unironically
As long as you get some joy out of it.
>>8051474I dont know how to get joy out of anything anymore
>>8051492either embrace the absurd or kill yourself now
the best moment to start drawing was yesterday. the next best moment is today
>>8051451life will pass away either way you do it or not, do you want to continue living in regret?
>>8051513and other people will succeed unless you stop them
>>8051567Another ai shizo spotted.
it's more that in the current year it's too late to start digital art unless you don't care about getting an audience
>>8051451Why would it be?
it's never too late to boot up csp and draw over those models
>>8051451too late for what, being good before 40? no.
>>8051451Yes. Yes you are. Veery. You are supposed to breed by now
>>8051451Technically no, but be prepared to be stuck in /beg/ hell for at least a decade before reaching /int/, as learning just became extremely difficult since your neuroplasicity has decreased and continues to rapidly decrease as you age.If you're really dedicated you might reach high /int/ before your 50.
>>8051742Not really a choice. At least there's no realistic barriers to start drawing.
>>8051451just do trad drawing. ai sloppers are too lazy to make that convincing.
>>8051451If you're talented, no. Some guys can start at any age and get really good fast. A good way to determine if you're talented is to compare some of your very first drawings to a reference. You can (mostly) ignore style and line quality since they will be ugly for a while. If your drawing is pretty accurate, congrats you are talented. If you look at the detail on your drawing and it conveys the 3d form of the object you are very talented. If it looks like a bunch of shapes mashed together you will be a /beg/ for a long time.
>>8051451No, young people are retarded and believe theirs is the only generation allowed to be successful and even more so now that Genz is recorded to be dumber than the millenials on every front possible. Don't fall for the meme that new is good. Good is good, no matter the age.
>>8051859This unc is delulu
>>8051451Time will pass regardless what you do or do notso I suggest you give it a try
>>8051492join the club
>>8051451This retard is dissing digital art in his mid 30s. Dude is probably still drawing dogshit birds in trad like a tard
>>8051859I started at 34 about two years ago , i drew this in 3 hours. We are simply the superior generation in every single fucking way, better taste, actual anime taste, actual literature taste, actual media taste, more intelligent and hardworking. We had our own culture so it's not that hard for us to find fun things to draw or do, we had no AI so we can solve problems on our own using critical thinking, the only thing zoomers have is millenial scraps (digital circus, politics) and abhorrent AI dogshit goon art. OP however is just dicksucking dick with no end in sight.
>>8051866I love this pic
>>8051769Pewdiepie got to /int/ tier in a year and he's in his late 30s
>>8051908ooo you drew the sudoku guy
>>8051917Pewdiepie can draw 40+ hours a week and has zero stress in his life
>>8051451It’s only too late if you decide it is. If you have the time and discipline, you can make a ridiculous amount of progress in a year. Consistency is key, and comparison is the thief of joy. Don’t let other people’s negativity convince you otherwise.Assuming you aren’t a brainshitting retard at that age and know how to navigate the internet, there are endless resources available to help you learn from the ground up. The information is there. You just have to put in the work, but more importantly, actually want to put in the work.
>>8051917No, he's still /beg/, he DID get decent at anime faces, which is literally the easiest fucking thing to draw because all the features are symbols instead of actual forms, and because it was the only thing he was drawing for months on end.His actual body drawings are pure /beg/.
>>8052093>which is literally the easiest fucking thing to draw because all the features are symbols instead of actual forms,Tell me you have not drawn anime art without telling me you have not drawn anime art>inb4 I could but I only draw fine high artliterally draw a anime face and post it. If it is as simple as you say it should take 2 minutes
>>8052122Found the permabag. It's amazing that you completely ignore the point on how he doesn't have a grasp on drawing the human body. It's even more amazing that you think the symbol drawn anime shit is hard to draw.
>>8051917He's also a billionaire that can spend all day on whatever autistic focus he wants
>>8052093>>8052124
>>8052294i have never heard that phrase before but now ive heard it three times in two threadsare you the same dude posting the hi lo concept?
>>8052297Lurk more. It's an established meme invented by Naoki Saito.
>>8052122>the hardest thing ever is actually le easyI sure hope he is trolling. That is a level of ngmi I haven't quite seen if he actually thinks that.
>>8052124Low CR>It's even more amazing that you think the symbol drawn anime shit is hard to draw.Prove me wrong by drawing an anime face.NGMI artist larper
>>8051451yes
>>8052122easy
>>8052309 this is the easiest thing ever lmao do begs really
>>8051917He has the Aryan genes, he is an exception
>>8052312do permabegoids really truly find this difficult lololo
>>8051451Just fucking start learning. You want to.So do it. Who gives a shit if you do or dont make it. Maybe one day you can make bananons request on tg or vg, or leddit,Or make a painting/ drawing for a loved one.Or make a couple of jokes with frensOr maybe you will flurish into an unchlorinated, unfluoridised, uncircumsised succesfull artist. You wont know untill you try.Besides.Got anything better to do?
>>8051451I'm 25 and have been drawn as an hobbyist for years as of now, but I have a similar doubt: If pic related is my actual skill level, can I safely focus on studying fundamentals and making finished pieces where I apply them as I keep learning, instead of studying other artists (I did this thus far without thinking deep enough sadly), for like 1 or 2 years if I aspire to reach an advanced technical skill level in the future?
>>8052297It's cope for autistic weebs. Anime is commodity art which is why AI can replicate it so well.
>>8051451you feel like monet?sounds like you're gonna be a good artist
>>8051451its too late to start drawing the traditional way by studying and grinding. But its not too late to just draw. Draw what you enjoy and enjoy it for its own sake, only practicing things here and there when you feel like it.
>>8051917this is the reason drawing still has no confirmed method of being taught. Retards will bring up obvious exceptions and fallacies like this "well the billionaire with a happy family could learn to draw an anime head after drawing every day for year" like that doesn't make their case look worse. Drawing as a whole is about expressing yourself despite the difficulty. The rock is hard to carve, the wood is hard to split, the lines are hard to get right. The entire point is your are overcoming something to make a mark in reality that wasn't there before. So you HAVE to be delusional in some way to draw, meaning there is no point in arguing if its over or not. But that doesn't mean you get to be hopeful and bring up shit like pewdiepie without me destroying your shit nonargument.
>>8051451i hope you started by now.tomorrow is october 1st. ill see you in the inktober thread.
>>8051451As a hobby? It's never lateAs a career?Yo are a solid 15 years late.
>>8051451nigga it's never too late, realize that you can do anything, you can learn coding, you can learn guitar, piano, drawing, painting, there's no such thing as too late, as long as you have the right amount of chromosomes you can do ts
maybe if i had started at 18 instead of 19 my life would be fine right now
Adults need to stop being so embarrassed about being shit when they start a new hobby. No, 33 isn't too old, nor is 45, 63, or 103.Try new hobbies, be shit, get good, enjoy yourself, and stop being so self-conscious.
Van Gogh started at 27.
>>8054041that's a bit disingenuous to say that he truly started at 27He left school at 15 and worked at his family art dealership and intermittently made sketches like pic rel. He already had more relationship with art than majority of people ever would when he decided to pursue a career in art.
>>8054042reminds me of me, waiting 10 years of my life to pick up art again after high school ended
>>8054041van gogh sold 1 painting
>>8054041Worst example to encourage someone...He never had success (post mortem doesn't count), struggled with poverty and mental illness, and very well known in our days as the depressed artist. He even ate paint and turpetine from time to time in order to poison himself.
>>8054134The poorest of men (in a non third-world country) has living conditions that can rival high class aristocrats / kings, just get drawing, get a alimentary job, art is an hobby first, then a career much later on.
>>8054092If you're not gonna do it for the love of the game don't even bother
>>8054365well he killed himself, so
>>8051917He has a horde of 109 MILLION people telling him how good he is at every step, regarding of form or technique, with people willingly giving him tips and tricks, so it's not like he's starting in an abyss and self-checking his own progressImagine going to the redline thread, and having 10 thousand redlines for every single doodle you make. The anon here is lucky to get 1 out of 2-3 drawings, and only if the pose is interesting. And the redline is from other random anons, not professional artists willingly giving you their time and expertisePlease, don't be that fucking obstuse
>>8054368well at least he made something valuable before doing that, you on the other hand will do it regardless with nothing to show for.
>>8055264>well at least he made something valuable before doing thatHe didn't know that. His life was miserable. Would you recommend your son to become an artist? The desire to draw is a curse.
>>8055264nigga, he killed himself because he failed at arthe was a professional art dealer with connections to big shot dealers and brother who was a big shot dealer and he sold one fucking paintingwhat broke him was seeing his brother making gauguin famous and popular with rich collectors, that was the moment he lost his fucking mindgo read his letters before writing retarded fanfic
>>8051492Same. The only joy I get is from Art and working out now- otherwise it's drugs/alcohol. I don't even watch anything anymore I just put on Futurama and fall asleep if I'm not at my day job working out or doing Art. I don't even like the new Futurama they're not even trying anymore. Anyway Hokusai made the Great Wave painting that's so famous at age 70 so there's that. 40 more years of this bullshit and you think you can't make one piece you're proud of?
>>8055465>Anyway Hokusai made the Great Wave painting that's so famous at age 70 so there's thatwhat the fuck is this cope, Hokusai was a literal pro artist before 20, the guy had 50 years of pro work before 70, he wasn't some dweeb working 2 jobs and struggling to draw a floating loomis head at 35 that finally made it late in life despite all odds
>>8055484>CopeDo you not see you're coping in the other direction? Looking for excuses not to pursue this path? I'm not going to give you more examples because you want me to find the Elon Musk of late bloomers then when I point it out you'll cope and point at their circumstances to disqualify them. >he wasn't some dweeb working 2 jobs and struggling to draw a floating loomis head at 35 that finally made it late in life despite all oddsSounds like you watch too much TV, why would you pursue art when working 2 jobs?Have you ever done that? it's really exhausting. Why not structure your life in a way that makes pursuing art possible? I do it with a part time and flexible hours while rooming with a family member and having an emergency fund- if you're over 30 you have to figure SOMETHING out, no more of this kid "Passion is my plan" thing. Honestly art is a disease to me and I bloomed late because a family member died during my early 20s leaving me with this apartment and tons of stress and bills. If you want to do it fast save some money (build some credit) and go to a school with a curriculum. The non cope version of this is the work needs doing no matter how old you are, the work doesn't care how insecure you feel- it's not about you it's about refining your skills to create better Art. If you're in this just for the money there are better careers, if you're doing this because it's the only thing you're good at you can learn to be good at other things but if you're obsessed and Art has consumed you then being "too old" doesn't matter.
>>8051492Then might as well try, unless you have some other important life goals you're trying to accomplish that dedicating yourself to art would prevent you from accomplishing
>>8055514not reading all that shit lmao
>>8051917the people seething at you dont draw, their brain could be 99% plasticine and they wouldn't get better
>if I was a billionaire I'd be good at drawingNo you wouldn't lmao
>>8051451Rejoice, the whole script has been thrown out and now there are no rules, no big AAA to shoot for much longer, even then it wouldn't be what anyone was promised. The future is wild, make something cool. Be something nigga.
>>8051451Its actually not that late, you still got a long life before you, chief
>33Seeing how the majority of adults were stunted thanks to internet and social media that's not really late- if you figured your shit out
>>8055598That gif is so fucking cool>>8051451Nah. I remember taking drawing 1 in community college at 19, and there was a 60 year old whoye lady who was a complete beginner who started drawing some really cool stuff as the course continued, her figure studies were spot on You can do it, just do it. The longer you wait the more you'll regret
>>8051769>t.Retarded teen Keep sulking, moron! You'll never be an artist
>>8051769> prepared to be stuck in /beg/ hell for at least a decade before reaching /int/Only retards who let their emotions get the best of them have this problem. As long as you analyze your work, ask for feed back and FIX THE MISTAKES you'd make it in less time not as fast as you think or anyone in /ic/ because they think they can speedrun being good at art which is why they're stuck where there at... but less than a decade
>>8056219>>8056220Touched a nerve did he? You're fucking retarded or complete newfaggots if you think even half the posters, let alone the majority here made it past /beg/ despite drawing for so long. It's an observable fact most people simply aren't cut out for getting good at drawing.
>>8056222>even half the posters, let alone the majority here made it past /beg/ despite drawing for so long>hereYeah that's mainly the problem, this retarded place isn't good learning. It's great for reference and just shit posting and seeing what the latest art drama is, but this place is the blind leading the blind when it comes to art. No one feels thankful to /ic/ for making their career, dawg.
>>8052309>>8052312>>8052314You've been asked to draw an anime face, not whatever this westoid tranny scribble is.
>>8051769I'm 35 and neuroplasticity never seemed to be an issue. Maybe because I never stopped learning something. I observe boomers who do the same thing every day for the past 35 years... they are the origin of the low-neuroplasticity-due-to-age myth.If you are /beg/ for linger than 2 years you are doing it wrong. Algenpfleger got a WotC job 2 years after starting from stickman.
>>8051859>Genz is recorded to be dumber than the millenials on every front possibleCope and legacy media clickbait.t.Millennial
>>8056240>seethes chinkilly
>>8056249Gen Z can't even read cursive
>>8056285>milennials can't read cuneiform
at 33 I'm starting to value peace and quiet more than anything. Why draw and potentially spike my cortisol when I can just le in bed and relax withuot answering to anybody?
>>8056285Why is that your go to marker for intelligence
>>8051917I mean good for him but expecting to get intermediate in a year is just setting yourself up for failure for the majority of people.
>>8051451im 31 and just bought a wacom pad
>>8051917He's not /int/
I'm in 30s now
>>8056248>/beg/ for longer than 2 yearsI'm on 6 years and counting. I have no idea where to get proper guidance from. I think I just don't have the gene/talent/gift whatever.
>>8051451because you can't adapt what you have learned into new medium. it is easy if you stop giving a fuck.
>>8056248>if you are /beg/ for linger than 2 years you are doing it wrong. Its over...
>>8056248Hu oh
>>8052433you never tried
>>8051451As a job? Sure. If you don't want the money, then it doesn't matter.
