If you were to start from scratch all over again, how would you do it? Please no meme answers, I want genuine inputs
drawing is exactly like video gameslife toojust gonna reboot to 15 years ago with cheats enabled lol
>>8051939I'd be drawing more of what i liked before because that's where i learned the most... specially my favorite characters from anime and started studying fundies more seriously since i slept on them for long time.
>>8051960Talented rats draw what they like and get better. I hate talented rats.
>>8051968no if you train your observation skills you can be like that too... i wanted to learn how to draw tits and asses good and hentai + some anime characters helped me with this i even copied dojins really helpful but you need to take it seriously not just goon.
>>8051939I'd probably start with learning construction earlier. I had a bunch of "how to draw cartoon" books as a kid and dismissed the steps of drawing simple shapes, but was able to draw close enough cartoon dogs and cats that made me think construction was lame and gay.But then when it came to drawing actual people my "close enough" drawings fell well short to those who bothered to learn constructionI use construction now, maybe even too much - but I can at least draw relatively unique poses from imagination. That and I would have tried to draw more instead of playing Halo2 or guitar hero so much
>>8051939Nothing, ABSOLUTELY nothing that we say will help you get there faster.
>If you were to start from scratch all over again, how would you do it? i'd start drawing earlier because as i got older i became less social and cheerful so building an audience took longer than it would've when i was a wee babbthat's about it
>>80519703,000 hours over six years. Isn't that serious enough? Even after all this time, I still don't know how to draw.
>>8051939I would have not even started drawing until i was 20, and instead spend my teen years making friends and experiencing life. Then that would have helped me get good much quicker once I started in my 20s, and i'd STILL be ahead of where I am now in my 30s
Get rid of my internet access sooner. Drawing requires the right state of mind and itβs hard to get there when I'm near distractions.
>>8052048You can spend 50,000 hours on something but if you are doing it wrong you are doing it wrong. Observation skills are not easy to train and specially if you are doing it off from screen. If you are not drawing outside and irl objects time to pickup some small notebook and start drawing into it.
>>8051939I'd probably do less drawabox exercises but even then I can't actually say for sure that they weren't useful.
Ironically, I would stop drawing and learn to program and get into the AI business
I would move to Japan and do everything that I can to get into animation studio
>>8052098And what exactly would you do there? The industry is thoroughly fucked. The very few ML engineers and AI researchers are the best of the best and they have a pretty shitty life besides the salary (that'll eventually drop, just like for developers).
copiesfigure drawingcostumed gesture + drawing people from lifecould probably speedrun where im at in 18-24 mons
>>8052119This is the real thing AI is the future Anyone who doesn't get on board will regret it in 5β7 years
Completely ignore drawing in favor of painting.
>>8051975Your construction sucks though
>>8052048are you the same guy thats watched 900 youtube tutorial but doesnt know how to draw a cube?
>>8052395If the problem were only with the cubes, everything would be much simpler.
>>8051968Sucks to be you, lmao. People who are vindictive and bitch about those with a bit of a gift, calling them rats, do not deserve sympathy. Enjoy being shit.
I'd focus on having fun taking it bit by bit. I already draw a lot but I would have done double or triple the progress at this point had I not constantly ran headfirst into burnout. I'd also jump straight into the tools I was interested in with more bravery, rather than sticking to "beginner" tools for so long. Things like good paper and nice watercolors or a fast enough computer really do make it fun, hence the burnout i mentioned.Last thing I suppose is just be wierder. I didn't draw a lot of what I wanted to because I was worried about it being 'too low skill' to sell the wierd ideas I had, but then i realized nobody cares.
>>8051939unless you can copyfag reasonably well any of the tutorials, guides or instructions that aren't related on how to better copyfag are completely useless. Start by copyfagging someones pencilsketches and work your way up to copying from real life/photographs. The less information in the reference you copy the better, you actually get to focus on the fact that the line itself isn't as important as the shapes they create.
There's this Japanese thing called Kaizen, which is basically "do 1% daily".So just draw a line, or a dot, today...
>>8051975Cute style
>>8052579
>>8051968poor poor bitch
>>8051975What materials did you use to learn?
>>8051968literal skaven mindset-mentality, yes-yes
>>8052390Fair, but considering I'm the only one confident enough to post my work, I still stand by my advice >>8052583:)>>8052782Loomis, fun with pencil, once I got the jist I just copied artists I liked, I tried krenz, but I feel that's better for super accuracy I've never really hard studied - mainly I just draw for fun, I dont post my work elsewhere but here because drawing is just a thing I do for myself
>>8051939Obviously i would not waste my time again drawing like fucking child, so don't start op.
>break up contact to all of my "friends" so I can concentrate on myself>get internet as soon as possible>read a lot of books/short stories/artbooks/guides/etc>watch internet guide videos>learn construction/perspective as soon as possible>draw daily and actually do what you want to do
>>8053195saar do not redeem the drawing
