i have a dusty old Viekk1200 (might be 1300 idk) that i haven't touched at all because i only need a mouse for pixel art stuff and i got filtered by digital art.

it has free drivers for linux but it has a retarded proprietary cable and those cost like $40 and god help you if you lose yours and they're out of production. also the thing has two cables and three USB-A slots and my computer only has two USB-A slots and whenever i screenshare with my 4K monitor, it always down-samples the monitor to 1080P and looks like shit

no. learn fundamentals on paper. you can buy a nice sketchbook and great pencils, brushes and so on for not even a 10th the price.
