I can only draw if I use little construction-worker men to help me out. Where I place them gives me a better sense of space and perspective.

>>8052680Thats really neat anon. I have the opposite where I use my window and scale things to how big they'd be if they were close to my window.
>>8052681Not a joke, some more :)
>>8052694Hmm, interesting, if more people post weird stuff like ours, perhaps a "ah sweet, a scizo thread" will happen :)
>>8052697lmfao i can actually see how that’d really help, keep on, op.>>8052694interesting rewire.>was about to try this for fun, then realized there are no windows, here.
>>8052680back when i'd spend 3 days binge-building a 3000-piece mega bloks scarab set (or the spirit set but... eugh... halo 5 version), i would pretend that the individual studs were people floating in the ocean (my carpet) and i was giving them land to live on.you come up with weird shit to entertain yourself when bored. i wish they still made big ass halo sets. i wish there were something like bricklink for mega bloks sets, but even that site is dead now (bought by lego)
It helps with color sometimes, I dunno, I suck at color tho
nah it's just your autistic fetish
Best thread on /ic/
This is genius
Just some construction-y type stuff as I'm sketching tonight, less little guys too, the one at the front is like the overseer or something lol
>>8053227This is the funniest beg thread I've seen in a while.
you know what if it works it works. I may be lolling, other's lmaoing, but if it makes you better, you better do it.
I got some little painter guys to work also. Eh, it doesn't really work for paint :). I need some other way for color, a similar sort of cheat (you know instead of actual hard work ehe)

Been doing development of a more comic-ish manga style/older seinen recently.
I find "studying" other things with the little guys helpful too. Yeah I know, they're also acting as a point of reference, but just generally to get "inside" the subject even if you're not 1:1 copying but you just want to recreate a certain feel
Eye I studied recently
Thought of you OP
>>8052680That's cute.
I'm not really an artist, but I have an idea when I make dumb little sketches, of making multiple seperate ones on a peice of paper and then trying to find some commonality between them, like just the perspective, and then use it as a basis to make a larger drawing on top of it, seperate from the rest, and in an odd way the smaller sketches would fit what ends up on top of it despite it possibly being something entirely different. I know that may be retarded and perhaps gay, like I said I'm not an artist, but then I wonder how many people had such ideas that became something. I think the idea is sound.
>>8059517I guess a better way to put it is using small sketches to retroactively assess the perspective to then work on that premise. I think it sounds like a good idea for practicing at least.
>>8059428Nice dude :)
Would I say it also helps with studying/reference? Yeah, kinda. It makes it easier (for ME) to get a "feel" for something, I suppose if I was trying to 1:1 copy also the position of the little guys is cutting out the middle man, its like shortening the amount of information I have to retain. It's weird, like I have to do it all by-proxy. I can see everything I look at (reference) FINE, but I can only really "understand" it through the eyes of the little dudes.
