What a dumb take. Sam Kieth, Mike Mike Mignola, and Bernie Wrightson were all influenced by Frazetta but went three completely different directions from that starting point

All of Capcom's lead artists from the 90s are a big inspiration, but if we're going by "people with art books published" then there's Edayan and this Rival Schools art book that is all his stuff.
>>
>>8057803
oh shit i didn't even know they released a rival schools artbook, fucking sick
>>
>>8057840
I'd say in terms of "value for an artist" the sketch archive book is excellent, but it's only available as part of the Rival Schools deluxe edition pack on Udon's website and it ain't cheap. I don't regret buying it, but I can see $175 for a couple books being a hard sell for most artists

Long form story.
Told over years and uploaded when he gets it done, and not tied to the syndicate demands for timely punctuality.
Loyal following with invested readers who fill the forums with happy discussions about the latest strip, and the lore behind it.
Lots of products, from tshirts to rpg tabletop games in addition to book collections with additional material.

>>8052745
I hate this thread because it's made me realize my inspirations and who I want to be like are the same as everyone else. I thought I'd grown a unique and refined artistic taste but everyone itt basically named every artist i look up to already. if we're all striving to become the same people then we've failed as artists and will stagnate

I want to become able to make enough money from art alone to pay rent and bills for a small apartment while occasionally affording some luxuries.

Hajime Ueda doesn't have an artbook that I know of but he's very much an industry veteran. My drawings are very different from his though, I'm not confident enough to go as stylized as he does.

Why even reply if you don't want to share? Are you retarded?
>>
>>8065424
>nose ring
Into the trash it goes.
>>
>>8072510
You must be really entitled to get offended just because someone doesn't want to share information with you.

Reality check: Artists are competing with each other. This isn't a flower world you live in. People will try to fuck you in the ass any chance they get so why should I share information with you? I posted because you retards need a wake up call.
>>
>>8072525
I was more annoyed with how unnecessary your post was but now I think you are either trolling or actually retarded. Competing for what exactly? For virtual points on twitter and, at best, an income smaller than minimum wage? Here is an actual reality check - it hasn't been a viable job for a long time now, exceptions being the .1%. With how oversaturated the market is, artists are much better off building communities and helping each other to grow. Mind you, we are competing with content creators and big corpos which is an uphill battle. People like (you), who treat art like a rat race, is why internet went to shit.
