Welcome to Inktober 2026!Looking forward to seeing new and returning artists. Are you drawing this year? Are the prompts challenging? Are you following your own prompts instead?Dump drawings and discuss on this thread. Good luck, and have fun!
Thanks OPDay 1 "Apple"
I shan't be drawing.

>>8052998>Are you drawing this year? You really shouldn't of asked, and assumed such. Who cares about the nodraws, and their non 'contributions' to the thread? They won't even say anything worth considering.>I'm not drawingYeah, no one cares. As for myself, I've always started strong, but quickly stopped for a variety of reasons, and once you stop it feels like there's no point it picking it up again. I might post my earlier attempts, since I've never posted them, and finish inking the unfinished pieces as warmups. This year I've prepared a bit beforehand for inktober, so hopefully I'll get through more of the month, if not the entirety.>Are the prompts challenging? They're a lot better than previous years, by a significant margin. I wouldn't say they blow me away, and stir up a creative storm, but there's a lot more wiggle room for interpretation than before.>>8053014Hey, I love Kiki's Delivery Service as well!
>>8053014Oh, and props for working in trad.
Small confession. Inktober always made me feel insecure halfway through. I'd compare myself to these awesome people with sick technique or unbound creativity and think: "Damn, I'll never be that good". Mainly the creativity part, because mechanical skill can be trained. But I had thought creativity was a natural spark that couldn't be altered, either you had it or you didn't. Nowadays I see it differently in two ways.Creativity can actually be "trained" by expanding your horizons with new experiences, be it either watching a new show or traveling somewhere. And that you can't be creative all the time. This one is more speculative as I don't have any artist friend, but this conclusion comes from my own experience and some thinking.A good inktober to everyone.
>>8053027>Creativity can actually be "trained" by expanding your horizons with new experiences, be it either watching a new show or traveling somewhere.I think just trying to be creative flexes that particular 'muscle', and you get better at it.If you suck at coming up with ideas for inktober, keep going, because you'll get better at word associations as you go.Just like how comedy and humour can be a trained skill, so too can visual creativity.
Shit is that time again!Ok here's 1/31
Haven't drawn in a while and now I feel like I got worse. I'll use the occasion to get better again.
Wooo drawing-_-
>>8052998Woo...i mean any pretext is good i guess.
>>8053064Disgusting desu
I don't actually know how to draw I'm just testing an app I made and the style is obviously a saico ripoff
Happy inktober ic
>>8053363holy shit is that you chair_dude?
I'm bad with inking and colours, which is why I'm trying this year. Shouldn't have used the red marker without testing it on the paper, and the attempt at hatching wasn't planned in advance.Still, took it from idea to the page, which is something.
>>8053363my goat
>>8053363omg are you back? i missed your art so much
>>8052998Hello, Happy Inktober. Motivation is a bit low this time around, my number one fan died this year>>8053014pretty!>>8053155woooo>>8053363welcome back, looking forward to your work as always

kek I love these drawings so farI was hoping to render mine entirely in marker, but it turns out I only own black and red brush pens. Whoops.
this might be my only inktober prompt... i was kinda set on doing it with this vtuber in mind but i'm kinda skeptical about continuing with it after seeing stuff about the creator of inktoberif i did another challenge it would the vtuber equivalent one but the prompts feel less open for that. either way it's vtuber shit both ways
>>8053420I can see what is so "appley" about her. Good job man.
>>8053426thanksi just tried to use that gif of the apple cat running and i thought it would be fun to make her tall hair strands poking out as the stem
>>8052998can we use AI?
>>8053438Damn I like it. There's something to it.Reminds me of very old pre-comic illustration in books with tales for children.
lets do this
>>8053432no, it's a drawing challenge

Day 1: Apple
Not looking forward to "Relic".You either draw a literal relic, which means presenting sanctified human remains in a way that is both interesting and readable, or you try to be one of those smartasses that uses the prompt to draw something barely related.
>>8053471Looking forward to seeing more of your work
>>8053420>after seeing stuff about the creator of inktoberDid he do another thing or is it the same old BS?
>>8053491It's not like you drew the apple either so who cares
>>8053491>You either draw a literal relic, which means presenting sanctified human remains in a way that is both interesting and readableRelic can be any old artifact doesn't have to be human remains. Look up the word it has multiple definitions. I'd tell you image search the word but so many people used the word to make characters and movies it's utter trash.
Calvados cruche
>>8053363Day 2 - Relic, i couldnt think of a good floppy disk pose. Iām past my prime.>>8053369>>8053380>>8053381>>8053386Ive come to terms with drawing one month of the year now.
