So what defines talent. How do I know if I'm going to be a great mangaka someday, like my favourite mangaka, or if I should simply blow my head off?
>>8054402You already decided it.
>>8054402If you overperform you are talented, if you underperform you are ngmiCopying a style (or straight up copying an image) is technically a cheat code to overperforming consistently and fast
>>8054408>If you overperform you are talented, if you underperform you are ngmiHow do you know what is considered baseline
>>80544135 minute sketch? You can tell when a guy overperforms, proportion mistakes, bad composition, literally poor drawing skills, made up by visual language
>>8054402>How do I know if I'm going to be a great mangaka somedayYou don't. You can even be an exceptional draftsman and make shitty comics. That's what makes life interesting
>>8054414I think I'll go with the shotgun
>>8054419At least hang a canvas behind your head.
>>8054419Yeah kill all talentfags
>>8054407>You already decided it.FPBP.
>>8054402Talent is a natural affinity or inclination towards a skill meaning it comes easier relative to the average person. If you learn things fast you're talented or perform at a high level in the minds of others you have talent.People confuse talent for skill, but I think almost anyone can be good to great at any skill they pick if they stick to it and are willing to work hard and challenge themselves to improve.Basically you have to work hard in place of talent. By definition most people can't have talent as it means you're above average. However hard work can never replace sense or taste. To make create manga or art you need to have something that's compelling to yourself and others. Your skill is required to supplement your tastes to make them as "appealing" or "SOVL"ful as possible>How do I know? You can't know until you do it.You either have what it takes or you fold, so it goes with everything.Hint: If you like doing the thing and improving regardless of if there's any reward or validation that's a sign that you'll probably make it regardless of talent

how do I make myself draw if every time I do I feel a wave of anguish and regret?
>>8058405The talent/skill debate is a residue from the boomer era. It'll be less and less possible to make it without talent, because you compete with extremely hard workers who are also talented. All one can do is find a niche or to draw for your own enjoyment and find a boring job that pays the bill.An uncertain future combined with only bad experiences made in life made me choose the boring job and drawing for enjoyment. I recommend this to anyone. There's no shame in being a loser in this age.
