That's by design I think, Bluesky is for getting in touch with randos rather than just having Krekkov shit up your timeline with his unbridled faggotry all day or Goldensmurf with his epic fight with reddit jannies. i joined bleskypes and it's just the same shit as twitter with everyone just marketing themselves and never talking.
On twitter, i never had issues with the JP side of any fandom and could talk to them just fine, only westerners seem to have a huge stick up their ass or obsess over politics as if it's their religion.

Personally i think it's okay, i started posting on social media recently and I’ve noticed that I actually get more interactions on bsky than xitter. I've also noticed that on more than one occasion I’ve gotten a follow on bluesky and later a follow on my twitter from the same person.
That being said i've yet to break double digit interactions on either one and i don't really interact with the site other than posting my art sporadically so that probably explains my experience

I don't mind the small sample size of bsky if anything i prefer it (privileged enough to not have my livelihood depend on art).
my issue is for SOME reason all the art on my feed is either furryshit or western zoomer fandomslop (sonic fnaf adgc newgroundslop etc etc you know the sort) when I don't even like it or interact with these people.
