how to failed as artist>just draw badit can be happen, but you can fix it>shitpost unnecessary comment too much>only draw cars and buildings and objectDRAW HUMAN EVEN YOU HATE THEM>endless sketch, doesn't even cell shading>he use xitter>his art style is inconsistent, and there is no area of specialization.>he think learning resource will solve all of problems>DON'T DRAW
>>8056135I'm way too depressed to ever make money with art.An anon here already mentioned it and he was right. What books and tutorials don't mention is that you have to actually live in a stable society/environment to be able to make art. And that certainly never existed for me in the west.
To make it as an artist nowadays you have to be a woman. White men are just 2nd class citizens who get mindraped by women and niggers daily. There is no chance to concentrate on art as a man anymore.
>>8056135how to failed artist>make incoherent ramblings in broken english instead of picking up a pencil and making its tip touch a sheet of paper
>>8056150I haven't slept all night due to depression. I am not in the state to draw right now.
>>8056155arguably the best time to draw. make some goyas nigga
>>8056155Either force yourself to draw or find happiness. Trying to make art with depression is like trying to work with a splitting headache, so find a way to feel better. for me its engaging with other hobbies and drinking occasionally, but its different for each person. try to make yourself happy if you wanna increase your art output
>>8056160>Trying to make art with depression is like trying to work with a splitting headacheThat's literally everytime I draw. >find a way to feel betterYou can not just decide to "feel better" when being depressed. You just have to learn to live with it. Maybe getting lobotomized would be a better option but I don't want to test it.
>>8056161>I dont like making artso don't?>i cant make my depression go awayso learn to live with it, like you said so yourself. If you wanna feel like what its like getting lobotomized ask a psychiatrist for an antipsychotic drug like Haloperidol, it'll be one of the worst feelings of your life.
>>8056167>I dont like making artI never said this. I just said I have to draw despite being depressed.
>>8056144I agree. When you're working a job with a messy schedule on top of family and school obligations art becomes almost impossible to prioritize.
>>8056170Even if you are not working at all it's impossible to create art here since you are literally just surrounded by mentally disabled retards.
>>8056169>I have to draw despite being depressed.Depression drawing is the best kind of drawing in my book. When the apathy hits and nothing you found enjoyment in matters any more is the perfect time to get to work. I remember just when my ex broke up with me I used to put on that bo burnham song "content" (bc she made me watch it with her) and just work on an alla prima painting for hours on end. It was covid so I had nothing else to do. The art consumed my life and I started having dreams about the program's interface but I made something I'm proud of and not gonna share because it's linked to my real name. Anyways that apathy is a superpower I wish I had now so I can stop constantly getting distracted and focus on one thing. Crying in the fetal position in the shower wasn't fun tho.
>>8056293If you think depression makes you a better artist then you never had real depression. If you have a headache then this also doesn't make you any better at drawing. In contrary you don#t even feel like going out of bed. Depression isn't any different apart from that it's mental and not physical.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ur3l2GKWzk&t=22s
i'm such a shit artist I prompt ai for feedback and get sad when even the ai says my work is flawed as shit
>>8056304I don't even feel like prompting AI since I don't want to go to jail for wrongthink.
>>8056301> In contrary you don#t even feel like going out of bed. Yeah I did... kind of still do but I hijacked my body with tons of caffeine so that depression turns into anxiety about laying about all day. That's how I got out of the first circle of depression. Sometimes I would drink so much that it would force me to go on walks at 3AM >depression makes you a better artistNot a better artist but a more consistent artist at that time. The disassociating and having no taste for anything allowed me to focus on art. I'm still there bruv. I was planning on going for a run on my day off, woke up at 6AM it's now 12 PM and I have done nothing. There are days I can't make it out the house no matter what I do (which today is feeling like), and sometimes I have no food so I'm stuck eating scraps. My apathy is muted in a sense where I don't have Anhedonia but I don't care about people and my future when I know I should and it worries me. I fight it every single day when I wake up to this nightmare of a life. But art's fun now so I can not care for a little bit! Also I'm kind of not watching youtube right now because I've been watching it since 12 and didn't realize how it consumed my life. So now I'm just bored all day or I do Art. I appreciate you taking the time to try to allow me to understand you better.
>>8056321>it was real in my mindYea whatever you say retard
>>8056135my interpol agent with a 160 iq who is obsessed with me not succeeding in art and spams ic with threads describing my situation in impossibly accurate detail:D <3
>>8056324I know you're starved for some kind of human connection so here's your (you) bud.
>narrowly avoid character limit>act tsundere
>>8056332You are just a phony faggot who acts depressed. It's obvious from the bullshit you write.
Gooning helps me a lot when I feel like this
Only draw lolis because you HATE women because they are evil malicious animals
>>8056135>it's the year Y2K>art cool, hobby fun>college comes>roommates think i should just drop out of school and focus on art>didn't take their advice>finish degree>"jobs" already being snatched up>gotta learn tech everything PLUS pay off student loans>2026>forgot about art "degree">forgot nobody wanted my "style">style today would have been perfect>still come to /ic/ every couple months for the last 2 yearsi wasted my time and life, skill dropped to 0, forget it
I enjoy drawing when I'm actually doing it, but making myself start is the hardest thing ever. Because I know there's only a 80% chance I'll enjoy it anyways. When you are starting out, drawing is new and exciting so you're always learning and making new experiences. But when you've been drawing for a decade or more, you dont have anything to learn anymore (except specific things you target) so your drawings are 100% muscle memory. There only thing to look forward to is "will this drawing be good?" and that's basically like playing a gatcha. You trade 2 hours for a 60-90% chance to release dopamine.
