Talking to a high-ranking Asian office drone foid from the AI industry about my art dreams spiked my cortisol levels immensely when faced with her silent judgingHow do I deal with such people who just don't get it? I guess I should just avoid them altogether, right?
"you're dumb" then walk away
>>8057036Good one, thank you
she sounds unbearably hot, you sound like a white girl
read The Secrets of Frazetta
>>8057019Well for starters.... Don't talk to foids....
>ywn steam up a hot azn qt in a suit just talking about your love of art>ywn feel the radiant intensity of her silent, sullen judging and restingbitchfaceI bet she was wearing good shoes, not great shoes, but good enough to notice that they were nice once.
how melodic was her voicecould she drawwhat sort of things was she doing with her hair
>>8057067>you sound like a white girlHow?
>>8057068>The Secrets of FrazettaQrd?>>8057075>>8057079We "met" on Tinder and it only lead up to a phone call because she wanted to make sure I was real (apparently not just the guys get scammed on those dating apps but also the girls), and the moment I mentioned art as my career she went silent for several seconds, that's when I knew it was over between us. Not because I don't believe in myself, but because our worldviews were too different. Whatever !!
>>8057083Also, she treated the whole phone call like a fucking job interview, Christ, the corporate world really left its mark on her. So annoying...
>>8057081>how to deal with peoplesuggests you're used to dealing with high-profile people despite not having the chops>office drone foidbasically a compound word which suggests that you really want to distinguish between women by type>my dreams>my cortisol levelsit's not all about you, sweet pea>I should just avoid them altogetherwho can just avoid anyone altogether? this is a flex from a chick.
>>8057086What?? I don't think any or all of those things are reserved to white foids ^^'
>>8057097I could accept gen z male, didn't read it as a romantic conquest angle
>>8057019It depends. What were your art dreams? If she was silently judging you for wanting to be an artist in general, one of the most desirable jobs out there, then yeah, call her dumb and walk away.If she was judging you because you art dreams involve taking furry hentai commissions, then she has every right to silently judge you.So tell us what those dreams that cause her silent judgement, so we may cast some loud judgement.
>>8057085
>>8057086You're such an insufferable twat
>>8057166Don't buy or read this. Save your time and draw.
>>8057085>>8057083its not the corporate worldits all the normie worlda woman wants a man who can give or provide or participate in a certain lifestyle.your career doesnt cut it.make of it what you will.
who cares what others think
>>8057083>the moment I mentioned art as my career she went silent for several secondsYou should have simply asked "What? Don't like art?" -- get her to clarify her view to you. Too late now, though.
>fanfiction threadthe /ic/ left behinds are so fucking pathetic

>>8057251two people were introduced in the OP, why couldn't someone respect both without empathising with either? I still hold the OPs dreams in the highest regard, they have my respect and I'd like to delineate the parameters of their speech which is anyone's right. Yet for an artist to hate someone so casually, for not speaking, that is unusual; in the ancient world, silence was assent, so for all the OP knows the woman could've been their strongest supporter and just neglected a casual hookup. The OP argument is itself a form of catastrophising.>>8057253why, what do you read?
>>8057166>Feelings also have a different temporality than emotions. They admit duration. Emotions prove significantly more fleeting and short-lived thanfeelings. Likewise, affect is often limited to a single moment. In contrast to feelings, emotions do not represent a state. The emotion does not stand. There is no emotion of rest. A feeling of calm is easy to conceive. In contrast, the expression ‘emotional state’ has a paradoxical ring. Emotions are dynamic, situative and performative. Emotional capitalism exploitsprecisely these qualities. Feelings, in contrast, cannot be readily exploited inasmuch as they have no performativity. Finally, affects are notperformative so much as eruptive; they lack performative directionality.
>>8057019>my art dreams>>8057083>I mentioned art as my careerIs it reasonable to assume that you dream of an art career but don't actually have one? Because yes, that could make a person cautious. Especially depending on how you arrived at this point. Are you a driven artist? Or are you someone who hopes for an artistic future because you've muddled your other prospects?Either way, I'm on your side and she can shove it. Also, post a drawing of her.
>>8057019No, never avoid people, learn this quickly. Listen to their shit opinions, listen to shit songs, listen carefully, listen with a touch of curiosity. Do not listen blindly, listen to explore their mind, probe it like an experiment, listen to know what not to be, listen to understand how to make it better. They are the best, haters, stupid people, feminists, and corporate foid, especially if they are shilling. Why? It helps to develop neuroplasticity. I listen to people all the time, I learn about both sides of the coin, and I use them to my advantage. May the Gods and the muses always be in your favor.
>>8057591>posts from new delhii want the time i spent reading this back.
>>8057159Financial independence with my art and something like royalties
>>8057292>your career doesnt cut it.Why not?>>8057520Ohh, good one. Thanks
>>8057097>>8057086OP is definitely a white woman, you have her pegged
>>8057565>for all the OP knows the woman could've been their strongest supporter and just neglected a casual hookup.I fear that was the case, I got so tense when she kept interrogating me about how I make money as an artist. I told her she doesn't need to know that. She even asked for my art page lolShe was still annoying though, after her grilling she asked me "and what do you want to ask me?", like what kind of conversation is that? And when I asked what should I ask, she interpreted it as a rejection and so I played along and it was over
>>8057583>Are you a driven artist?I draw every day>Also, post a drawing of her.I deleted her face from my world. Just imagine a Chinese woman in middle management or something
>>8057591Based. You too !
>>8057591Thank you
>>8057773>Financial independence with my art and something like royaltiesWere you able to speak convincingly about this? Her reaction may not have been about your art. You may have come across as someone who hasn't thought about the future very carefully. Especially if you mentioned "something like royalties".
>>8057886I only mentioned >Financial independence with my art
>>8057887Maybe she knows some artists? And maybe she knows that very few of them depend on it for their entire income? Or perhaps she's familiar with industries [supposedly] vulnerable to AI?Maybe you're an excellent illustrator, but talking about finances isn't your strength. In future, perhaps you could use a questions about work to show off your stuff.Or just put her on the defensive:>You work for an AI company? Wow. How long before you replace your own job?
>>8057899Honestly, all I have going on for me is drawing and posting daily, while having an Etsy shop with 0 fucking sales (opened it 2 months ago), so yeah I wasn't very confident, okay? I did get paid for 2 commissions before though, one for 1 dollar (SFW furry smut), the other for 80 dollars that got to be the title screen of a game.Again, I just got the vibe that she didn't know what to do with my information aka she wasn't particularly excited about it either, which is a no-go because that's literally who I am. I trust this helped
>>8057907>draws every day>etsy shop>80$ commission>title screen of a gameThose may seem like small things but they put you far ahead of most of us. Especially the title screen. Someone spent a lot of effort creating something and then chose your work to put on the front of it. That's a huge compliment. If you're not doing so already, find and talk to artists. Learn how they get by. There's a woman near me that prints fucking Mickey Mouse on paper loops that go around cupcakes for kids' birthdays. She makes thousands a month. She slowly cultivated a market for this kind of crap and now has many customers that come to her a few times per year. You may feel that she's selling hot garbage (I do) but understanding how she did it is helpful. What I'm saying is go find some people who have succeeded at or attempted your goal, and learn their pathways. Might give you some confidence.Local open studio days are a good place to start. Lots of talkative artists who earn some from it.
>>8057927Thanks man. I'll talk to successful local artists and check out the next local open studio days event :)Rant:I first drew anime-style, then pivoted to normie-art to not get fucked over by copyright, but I'm still interested in anime and it would be a waste not to use all of my knowledge of that... Instead I'm "just" drawing nature and more realistic characters. I'm also showing my face now. Don't really know if I could do that with the anime fanart I did before. I guess I just wanted to be respectable and abandoned the anime stuff but at what cost? I'm just grinding anatomy and drawing normie stuff, is that really what I wanted? I don't even know anymore. Like your acquaintance, she basically also makes money with fanart, so why can't I do the same thing?Thoughts on all that?
>>8058426First they came for the anime-style art drawers but i drew normie art. Then they came for . . .
>>8058431So what you're saying is it doesn't matter either way and I should just draw what I love? THANK YOU
What a dumb fucking vent thread, stop being such a faggot OP holy shit
>>8058630I'm sorry, okay?
