Is One by Wacom MEDIUM discontinued or something? I checked several online stores, including multiple amazons. And no one has it in stock. What should beginners buy now then?

>>8057157Why did they name this One when they already had Wacom One the screen tablet? Why not just go back to calling it "bamboo" like the old days?
>>8057157You can order the newer version of these from Wacoms estore but to get the older CTL-672 your best bet is to look for refurbished ones thats what I did
>>8057210Er, that’s for people who play osu!.
>>8057278Oh, I didn’t realize Wacom One effectively replaced One by Wacom. I mean they have been selling both for a while. That’s crazy price increase from standard One by Wacom price lol.
>>8057270cause their whole naming scheme is retarded
>>8057284Yeah it kinda sucks the price is like $100 more then I paid for my CTL-672 and for a beginner that can suck but the newer models do have twice the pressure sensitivity and tilt recognition
>>8057326The Wacom One supposedly has issues.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=415ngQOHiME
>>8057370Do you trust a pajeet? But seriously, you can google that people complaining about pressure on Wacom One, even after the firmware updates.
I think it's pretty hard to use a pen tablet unless you are already a brush master to begin with, so I looked into the most basic pen displays available. Wacom One 14 was the low cost wacom thing. Obviously, there's like ipad and stuff. I got a refurbished kamvas 13, I think some of them get returned because it doesn't include a usb-c cable, you need to order a full-feature usb-c cable to use it 1 wire. I haven't used it with phone yet, you should be able to plug it into phone and use a phone app too. I think it's the level of the most average beginner drawing pen display.
there's a $50 screenless wacom sells that replaced the bamboo, it's a pretty good deal for what it is. i say use that
>>8057403this was my experience too, hand-eye coordination is something you struggle with as a beginner so completely disconnecting the two is just an exercise in frustration
>>8057409I mean, I'm just trying to follow the old recommendation. Get something close to the size of your (laptop) monitor. Unfortunately the other alternatives are much more expensive.
You could always just get a competitor's tablet. I doubt there's a huge difference in quality for the lower end cheaper products. If you were buying an expensive screen tablet I'd be far more cautious about the competitors, but for a cheap screenless tablet? Just go with whoever has half decent reviews.>>8057409Isn't that the One by Wacom, which is what OP is asking about?
>>8057530Perhaps he meant Wacom Intuos Small? https://docs.sevenpens.com/drawtab/catalog/drawtabs/wacom/wacom-pen-tablet-comparison
>>8057157are these new tablets a different tech from the old ones? like would I notice a difference between a new one and a 10+ year old intuos 5?
>>8057573Nah, they work about the same. The only real difference is the price, with the one being much cheaper, and with all the extra bells and whistles being stripped out (such as buttons).I think the stylise is of lower quality too? Just lighter and cheaper feeling? Though it works just as well.
They still sell it, not sure why you couldn't find it. But the current models have bluetooth slapped on so they could bump the price up. There's also the intuos medium which is the same size and has buttons, but is also cheaper for some reason
>>8057796Wacom One is different from One by Wacom, much more expensive. Can't help but think you're trolling.
>>8057872Sorry man, I was just unaware. I thought it was just a newer model, I haven't seen the specific "one by Wacom" model in over a decade. But anyway, in that case then just get the intuos medium. It's cheaper too.
>>8057157Art is not for the poor. How many times I need to tell you this, anon?
>>8057872no reason to avoid
>>8058203wat
Lmao, just when I decided to buy the small version, everyone increased their price. Fml.
>>8057872>Wacom One is different from One by WacomYeah, how could he EVER get those mixed up? Crazy.I can't wait for Wacom to release their newest One they're developing, "Wacom Presents Another One by Wacom".Who the fuck does their marketing? They should get a raise for this brilliant naming convention, and not at all be fired.
>>8058525Oh, I legitimately do not recommend the small size. It's legit just a tad to small to be a comfortable drawing experience. I can't speak from experience with the other sizes, since I don't have them, but I doubt the make a small twitch of the wrist something that ruins a drawing. It's not unusable, but something bigger would be far more pleasant.
>>8058529Sorry, anon. Unironically too poor to get Wacom Intuos Medium CTL-6100(WL). And couldn't find a used One by Wacom Medium in good condition.
>>8058550Just get a huion or xppen there's really nothing to fuck up with a screenless
Got my used wacom.
>>8057157this is the shit I started with
>>8057157I'll give you mine if you want
>>8060187 I got one already. >>8059669Prepare for a new era of /ic/ spam.
