Hi,I recently drew this piece of an elf mom and her daughter, but i wanted to make sure that people could know who is the mom and who is the daughter because I'm afraid people may confuse the two and if thats the case what can I do to fix that? thanks
Assuming the mother is on the left? Desaturate her hair a bit more and it'll be more obvious. Otherwise not much you can do w/out changing a bunch of the pic.

In general,their faces and bodies look very similar To fix this: Age the mother. Add some wrinkles, maybe a slightly baggier eye, make her hair darker, make her skin darker…just add things that indicate age and time.Change up their anatomy in general. Make the younger one have thinner arms, be skinnier, maybe even have smaller breasts. Lighter hair, maybe more refined Haila. Give the older one slightly saggier breasts, and make her dress more modestly- tighter clothes for the older woman, looser for the younger. Make the older one have an Elbow with more wrinkles/detail and give the younger one simplfiied elbows. Small things like this make a massive difference in age communication.

>>8059910I think a good way to differentiate mom and daughter would be to give them outfits that reflect their ages. Like giving mom a haircut that would have been popular when she was 500 years old. Elves might not age like humans but maybe they would go through fashion trends like we do? I think you're trying to convey their ages through body language too, mom is the one on the left I think? That's at least what I get from her leaning in and her daughter looking sorta fidgety. You could do a bit more with that, like having her twiddle her thumbs or playing with her hair nervously while mom looks more refined and confident. Focusing on things that aren't physical but convey personality are what I would do.
