I have no idea how this shit works lol

if anything this dogshit has taught me just to focus more on drawing since trying to solve the algo seems very unfun
>>
>>8061754
300 followers ain't shit, i know cause i have around the same amount, it's all about what people like, draw girls for example, quirky girls with zany faces and brown women, that's what they like
>>
>>8061754
check if you're shadowbanned, sounds like you are https://shadowban.yuzurisa.com/

If you're feeling spicy just post your @

I'm not expecting every drawing to be a hit post right out the gate but actually showing my drawing to even 10% of my followers would be nice, and this was a girl drawing

>>8061808
I'm not
>>
>>8061754
I gave up with Twitter honestly.
>>
>>8061819
>I'm not expecting every drawing to be a hit post
this is like when people go to the gym and go "give me a light routine, i don't want to be arnold schwarzenegger"
my hit posts are 2k, my invisible posts are 9 likes, my good posts are 200 likes, get familiar with the game
>>
>>8061852
No I'm telling you I'm not expecting even 9 likes, just more than literally 10 views
>>
>>8061754
no likes or followers on /ic/ and yet many people post here
no likes or comments on /dad/ and yet a lot more people post art there

How does twitter traction compare to pixiv. I only use pixiv
>>

>pixiv
slow but fairly consistent even years later

explosive but posts over a couple of days old tend not to get attention at all.

I just said what many artists do without a need for validation.

I started posting art for inktober, been posting everyday for 15 days. Each video is around a few thousand views. Most of the videos are I don't even put much effort into the video lol just a speed up version of it. And I have zero followers, if view is what you are looking for, then do short form content constantly. Because in a short 15 days, I had more views than an art exhibition would.
>>
>>8061754
>"Guys my work isn't getting attention so let me vague post anonymously for attention"
Pyw dumbfuck.
>>
High effort doesn't mean it's good or interesting.
I only post here, but impulsive, low-effort posts sometimes get much more engagement than try-hard but maybe boring ones. It’s almost as if the amount of effort and engagement are inversely related. Not always, but sometimes it feels like it. It's almost gaslighting.
This one didn't work, so you just move on and make another one instead of waiting weeks for likes.

What are some current/most popular and healthy fanbases and media from this decade I could capitalize off for building an active following if I'm taking the fan art route? Anime/Videogames only
>>
>>8062864
It really doesn't matter.
People can tell if you're phoning it in for clicks. If not even you care about it, don't bother posting it.

>>8061819
Why should you expect your post to show up? People follow hundreds, realistically, thousands of accounts, many of whom post daily. Do you think people are liking or even scrolling past THOUSANDS of posts a day?

The truth is people who consistently get a lot of engagement are that way because they're seen as significant enough for people to turn on notifications for their posts. This is why youtubers always tell you to click the bell icon. People follow so many accounts the main feed is just background noise.

In the first place, I care more about money than followers count. What's the best source of income (around 600 USD monthly as an average is my ideal) for an /int/ digital artist who doesn't even have 1k followers on social media? Were do unknown artists even get commission in general? The job situation where I live is fucked and I need to pay important medical expenses
>>
>>8062895
You're best option is to put the fries in the bag. Unknown artists don't get commissions.

Unless you're pulling in a consistent 1000+ likes on every post and have actual devoted fans, don't expect to get paid a cent.
>>
>>8062895
i dont undestand people that get into art for the money
possibly the worst hobby if thats your goal
>>
>>8062899
Seriously. Even if you do get consistent enough commissions to do it as an actual full-time job, the actual pay ends up being like $20/hr
>>
>>8061754
People like sketches more than the final product on social media a lot of the time post those
>>
>>8062895
>(around 600 USD monthly as an average is my ideal)
around 600 USD a year is what you should expect as the best case

Because they see themselves as a special snowflake and think the masses will fall in love them.

The truth couldn't be anymore of the total opposite.
Tons of people get into art, which saturates the market, and now you're left with more supply than actual demand exists.

People like this get 1k USD through drawing porn very easily and aren't that popular to begin with, what exactly stopping anyone else by comparison?

Delusional lmao, I see AI tracing niggers easily reach hundreds of thousands of followers and make thousands on Patreon, people don't care and if you do you're setting yourself up for disappointment
>>
>>8062887
>Why should you expect your post to show up? People follow hundreds, realistically, thousands of accounts, many of whom post daily. Do you think people are liking or even scrolling past THOUSANDS of posts a day?
What other purpose does pressing the follow button serve? I know from my own experience that my feed prioritizes randos I don't follow over people I actually clicked on so what can an artist do to actually get their art in front of people's eyes

My art is seemingly good enough to reach the top 3 of the day on reddit literally every time I post there since people actually see it, what do I do to get that motion on twitter or is it literally just luck

>The truth is people who consistently get a lot of engagement are that way because they're seen as significant enough for people to turn on notifications for their posts.
I have never heard of anyone ever doing this or mentioning this for twitter art posts, ever
>>
>>8063008
>I see AI tracing niggers easily reach hundreds of thousands of followers and make thousands on Patreon
Such as?
>>
>>8063054
I don't actively keep a list of them, the latest I saw is archapxl
>>
Have you tried posting you're art on niche Reddit communities and asking them to follow you
>>
>>8063101

subreddit conversion is very minimal unless your post is so good it takes top spot for days on end
>>
>>8063101
see >>8063044

I often get to the top of a subreddit the day I post but you can't build an audience on reddit the way you can on twitter and many subreddits outright ban you for posting your socials under your post
>>
>>8063008
You spend an awful lot of time worrying about what attracts AI guys. This is the board for art, if you want grifting tips, I'm sure /g/ can help.

>>8063044
>What other purpose does pressing the follow button serve?
For the most part, it curates your feed, but it's not really that important on it's own anymore. You do actually get posts you want in the Following tab, but it's not reliable. Especially because the app will occasionally switch you back to the For You tab.

>top 3 of the day on reddit
Reddit is normietown. They'll hang just about anything on the fridge, especially the big subreddits. But normies also don't really care about art, at least not in the way you want them to. You can't impress twitter people the same way.

>I have never heard of anyone ever doing this or mentioning this for twitter art posts, ever
Most twt tips are extremely outdated and come from a time when there both weren't as many people on the internet, and wasn't quite as algorithmically driven. This is also why posting frequency or posting times doesn't really do anything anymore. All the follows that matter go straight to the inbox. If you want people to click the bell, your options are A: Be exceptionally skilled, or B: Build parasocial relationships.
>>
Nevermind likes, how do I get views?
>>
>>8062858
It means you're shadowbanned
>>
>>8061754
>300 followers
>minus 310 followING
You have -10 followers. Be grateful you get any views, peasant.
>>
>>8062858
it happens sometimes just try again later, or it is because your account just doesn't have what is needed to test for that kind of ban. the search suggestion ban test always works and if you don't have that kind of shadowban you probably don't have anything else but i'd still check back and make sure
>>
a big account retweeted something I drew I'm 100% sure it was out of pity because it was garbage and I still got no likes
I'm so embarrassed I don't ever want to draw again
>>
>>8061754
You dont get how it works because there's nothing to get. It's a gacha, sometimes the algorithm will boost you for no reason and some other times your shit will flop because the algo willed it.
Just post random bullshit with complete disregard for what works or doesn't. The stuff you least expect to blow up will blow up. It just works.
>>
I don't think "peak hours" matters. Of course you wouldn't post early in the morning before everyone gets up out of bed but anytime after that doesn't really matter. The Algo (at least not on X) will give you a chance if you genuinely have good content. On X though? I have not a fucking clue how it works and how people can get seen without hashtags and barely any followers.
>>
>>8065042
i did an experiement. saw this guy get like 200, 700, 1000 likes doing these simple black n white pics. but i know they are collages of photographs because i recognize the buildings. so i figured out his filter set from photoshop, found some old photos of the same buildings... made a couple of posts, and posted them regularly for a few days... couldnt get more that 20 likes LOL.

im on ig. the algorithm is shit. they just want you to pay.

they should just let yoo dip into a real time feed when you want to.
>>
>>8061754
Peek time is not as important as YOUR peek, always always always post at the same time every week. Pick 2 days, pick an hour, that's when you post.
>>
>>8065538
its peak, bro.
P E A K
ok?
>>
>>8062033
Wrong, the moment you put it on the Internet you are seeking some form of attention. Just because/dad/ is the best some artists can do it doesn't mean it's all they want.

What a retard you are
>>
>>8065539
I can only post from my phone so it auto corrects.
>>
>>8065540
mercenary activity, while it demands attention, is not fundamentally 'attention seeking behavior"

What if I have an idea for a webcomic that I just want to put out there without using AI?
>>
>>8062897
you're dumb af most commisioned artists are total whos that you can ask for porn without giving a fuck who sees it, i know since i've had a fuckton of commissions for furfags and homosexuals
>>
>>8066131
>t-t-t-thats not true i got commissioned once :( :(

Unless you're pulling a consistent 1k a week from mystery furs, the fries go in the bag.
>>
>>8066137
You mean 1k $$$ or 1k likes? In any case, half of the users here are not even from developed countries. In Russia it's enough to earn $1000 a month to have a good life, similar in Romania, and it's even easier in poorer countries (if you got access to PayPal, ofc)
>>
>>8065995
spam appeals with variations of "SAR SAR SAR I AM AN INDIAN I AM INDIAN" in the text field, there was an account that did this and it actually worked
>>
>>8066141
Even $1000/mo is a stretch to be making consistently as an unknown.

Even assuming they manage to fill enough slots for that price, I do not envision the majority of /ic/fags drawing 10-20 full pieces every single month.
>>
>>8066143
The low level monkeys in India do not have write access to unban X accounts, only read. So the "account" you're talking about is lying and something else happened for them to get their account back.
>>
>>8066145
I agree with you in this sense, at my peak I was getting $800 a month back when you could get commissions on /aco/ as noname. Since they banned the commission threads in 2022, it became incredibly hard to get commissions unless you already have tens of thousands of followers. To this day I don't know why commission threads were allowed there for years but got forbidden in 2022
>>
>>8066143
i just said something along the lines of 'im no spambot im just an artist tryna pyw my work'
i figure sending multiple appeals in quick succession will lower my chances ironically enough
>>
>>8066147
Yeah. Getting commissions on Reddit or Twitter is pointless. There's too many people, and as an unknown you're bidding against all of them. It's also why trend-chasing doesn't really work anymore. Even a couple years ago you might've gotten a couple thousand followers from doing flavor of the month shit, but it's so standardized now I can't really fault anyone for not giving a shit.
>>
>post a pineup
>Get 1k+ likes but less than 100 retweet
Any idea why that happened?
>>
>>8066209
10% of your views will be likes
10% of your likes will be retweets
10% of your retweets will be followers

Roughly. It's to be expected.
