By overlap I mean certain parts of the foreground lady's body should be hidden by other portions that are coming out closer to the camera/viewer's eye. When the camera starts to go up over someone's head like that, parts of their lower body/pelvis will be obscured due to foreshortening. And then the tilt/angle of the shoulders will usually have the further away arm obscured a bit as well. Either way, absolutely use references at all times when trying to improve.

If you're in your 40s, yes, i'm 25 and i have no skills in my resume, if i lie, they reject me, if i'm honest, they reject me nonetheless due to lack of experience, so my only workplace experience is airport call centers (for imports/exports), mainly involving data entry, so no i don't make enough money to go to America, but i'm not a indian slave so that's good atleast.

That is partially why i wanna get good at art, money.

Speaking from personal experience, art mentors are terrible fucking teachers and overpriced to hell. Even the one's that are really good at drawing suck, I've blown over a thousand bucks throughout a year going through three different ones and have never improved because of them.

They are less than useless and a driving factor on why I almost hate artists as a whole (most of them are fucking grifters, very few are genuinely good people)

1st teacher: adamant on getting students to draw from imagination, even if complete beginners, some students did see good results, it's a fast track way to burnout and extreme forms of frustration. By the fourth week I saw no improvement, doing scrolls decorative exercises was the most mind-numbing and retarded exercise I've ever faced. Dropped after first month

2nd teacher: really really good artist. Literally worked in the industry, worked on a LOT of projects, games, netflix shows big name events ect. Biggest issue is my goals on what I wanted to achieve did no align with what she was teaching. I thought I'd be learning how to do illustrations, instead it turned into concept art mobile game tier fundie slop, like the shit you'd literally see in a draw a box course. Also spent way too much time talking about the industry and its pros, cons, how to get hired, which I had zero interest in. Was also extremely expensive.

3rd teacher: least skilled, Patreon monthly course. Too inconsistent, she's overworked and stuck managing 15 other students, always forgot where we left off. Never gave solid advice on how to actually improve, or a structured course to take. At best it was some /int/ tier critique on your art, which is... ok, except you can only get critiqued on one image per month.
