Every good drawing starts with a gesture. Show off your gesture and preferably end result

the thread could be fun if to post, you had to draw a reference image that was already posted. like as a soft rule. draw the gesture for this

20mins altogether, I drew it a few times before arriving at that version. Was warming up, exploring the pose, and trying to remember what makes a good gesture since it's been awhile.

YeEeEesssSsss, exaggerate that bitch.

>>8073144
I think you're missing the point of gesture overall, no? Its to set up the actual drawing, its not meant to be THE drawing. Given the result, it's captured very well.

Actually I take it back, I see what you mean, that curve on the torso is definitely weak.

I made the legs too long, and I pushed the pose to the point of unbalance.

These types of images are bad practice imo. Its completely unnatural and awkward. You're not getting a sense of form or understanding how the body works - youre just copying the extreme curves and shapes. Is your goal to draw contorted human figures writhing around? Try watching video of any sport or martial arts and pausing it. Youll find real, natural poses. You can even use the thousands of "walking through x city" videos on youtube. They are full of people walking and existing naturally.

Andy Anderson video. 10 to 30 seconds per pose with a sharpie. Sense of weight and readability is the goal

Two quick attempt.. meh idk, first one i feel the pose more despite the ribcage disengaging from the hip and doing whatever the fuck. Made everything way too long/thin in both cases

Man, how come you only ever see all your glaring mistakes _after_ you've finished....
