is haven social the next artist platform or is it another bluesky. youtube keeps putting this in my feed but I don't know how anyone can support this it looks terrible
just gonna be another site infested by furries and managed by the foid mafia
if my hardcore lolicon friends won't use it I wont either.
Seems like a scam to me. Tread lightly
Bluesky 2.0
>>8073284Same. It triggered my scam detector and wouldn't be surprised if it was correct, again.
>>8073269he looks evil>200k of 10k goal and now he's evil and rich, no way he doesn't know how to invest. look at that fucking nose
I think the reality is that any social media that doesn't fully embrace cynicism is doomed to fail because social media as a concept is inherently cynical and exploitative. Twitter isn't popular despite being a dogshit bot farm, it's popular because it is.
>>8073455Looks like someone doesn't remember old forums or realizes this here is also social media. It doesn't have to be an ad-optimized doomscroll engine.
>>8073464Forums and here lack the distinguishing characteristic that makes social media social media, which is networking features. If you can't follow people, it ain't social media.
>>8073455I think more then anything a website that still has its basis on a "feed" that is given to users inherently just cant work anymore. Like when I look back at my Deviantart days, I never had any users content algorithmically fed to me. If I wanted to see some cool manga art, I had to go actively look through it. When I wasnt uploading cringe shit on there, there was an easy way to generally look up art that aligned with my GENERAL interest and was able to discover new art that was constantly being uploaded with general ease. I think it was a better ecosystem to have users pick a "general" topic of art but still require users to search through the catalogue and get exposed to new art as opposed to having an algorithm just give you popular random shit. The good shit will still rise to the top but there was no algorithm RNG to it all. Like back in the day if I uploaded my anime art to DA, it wasnt just uploaded to the fucking void if I was a nobody with no followers cause some other nobody who happened to be looking through the general Manga Art section could stumble upon my art. If I were a noob uploading to Twitter right now though there is no bloody chance that anyone could see my art no matter how high quality it is. Even if I had the best coomer fan art imaginable and used all the hashtags I could muster to type, the algorithm would still prioritize a post thats popular or trending. That same nobody on DA wouldnt be able to find my work on Twitter at all unless I get lucky with some fag whos mega popular retweeting my shit. There is no room for organic growth between peers with modern internet design. Like even fucking boorus are better set up then shit like twitter cause even if I wanted to fap to some Shiver porn and look up her tag I would still have to dig through what was uploaded cause its not like they have some rating system, and hey I might discover an artist I've never seen before while looking.
>>8073470Goot point. I thought the defining feature is being able to discuss freely (other than legacy media and the extremely little engagement online news on pages allow interaction). But the networking factor really is the differentiator....It makes it a popularity cotest, yes.
>>8073269haven is bad if you don't want oil slick on your art
>>8073269>H HavenI would've assumed that meant Hentai Haven
>>8073269>Platform made by westernersIt's going to be troon riddled furryfag shit isn't it ?Don't even bother me with this.
>>8073269In the Haven kickstarter FAQ>In providing a place for free speech, do you mean 'absolute' free speech?>To be clear, even though we are anti-censorship, we are not free speech absolutists. If you pursue absolute free speech, your platform turns into 4chan, and we don’t want that.>Haven is not a place for hate speech. We mean free speech more like protecting people from:>- Shadowy megacorps and governments promoting or suppressing certain news stories to suit their goals.>- Oligarchs modifying the algorithm of social medias they own, to manipulate and propagandize you into having worldviews that benefit them, but harm you.I know he means this in an activist fight the power way but how dense do you have to be to word it like this? Every radical on /pol/ and every gamergater on /v/ would say those two things word for word.He said in an interview Haven will be pro dead dove. This reminds me of the Pridehosting kickstarter that happened because of the Steam credit card shit. You can upload art of lolis getting incestually guro raped to death but they'll clutch pearls if that art contains the word "faggot" or a swastika. This isn't even getting into how you draw the line between fetish and hate speech (what makes bigotry and slurs in kink art less offensive than in any other art? Can you just claim your edgy art is kink?) Newgrounds seems to balance troony redditism with chuddy 4chanism just fine unless I've missed some great banwave of compliance. You can host both sides and give the users options for curating who and what they personally see. Free speech platforms only "turn into 4chan" because the people who could drown them out get scared off thinking they'll catch nazi like cooties or that stupid "12 nazis at a table" analogy reddit loves so much.I understand the practical answer is if they hosted actually meaningful anti-government shit, they would get sniped and 4chan is only grandfathered in due to being a honeypot. But still.
>>8073269I personally have a good feeling about haven, but given it's only open to the public in august next year, it feels like it's sort of missing the boat. Also, I'm dubious about whether or not they really can achieve half of what they're aiming to achieve. Like the poisoning of all videos and images that are uploaded to the site sounds fantastic, but if the actual AI companies are having a hard with their hardware despite their billions/trillions of funding, I can't imagine Haven would do better... but, if they're legit and are at least trying, unlike the cunts from every other social media (particularly youtube), I'll be quite happy to make it by main social site. And if they do manage to poison everything that's uploaded, I'll 100% main it.
>>8073464/ic/ is a doomscroll engine unless you bunker down in a general on any board though
>>8073655>Oligarchs modifying the algorithm of social medias they own, to manipulate and propagandize you into having worldviews that benefit them, but harm you.He is that oligarch/tech corporation by deciding what can be said and what cannot be said
>>8073269An art website that only gets traffic from artists won't work. Just like a country full of welfare recipients, but no workers or entrepreneurs.>>8073655>>Haven is not a place for hate speech. This right here means it's likely to become Bluesky 2.0, or another flavor of /ic/ - instead of artists trolling artists, it's artists policing artists.
>>8073669>/ic/ is a doomscroll enginedoomscroll is in reference to the infinite scroll design social sites use these days.So no, /ic/ is not a doomscroll engine. Just call this board shit, like every other retard.
>>8073655It's naive or a scam. The NSFW bans aren't subjective moderator policies that simply needed someone to be open-minded. Steam didn't remove little sister rape simulators because Lord Gabe was clutching pearls. Take it up with the law.
>>8073676If you listen to their interviews, they actually have like 3 or 5 different methods to earn revenue, and possible donations (requiring visa/mastercard) is only one of them. Not to say they'll be successful, but I'm hopeful.
>>8073676insane how only criminals and pedophiles have issues with payment processors not wanting to deal with the high risk volatile market that is the non-regulated adult industry when the adult industry has SPECIFIC payment processors for adult content
afaik most who have issues with visa/mc are third world brownoids that sell pornography in countries where distribution and sale of adult content is forbidden by law
>>8073738Both Steam and Itchio were hit as well, and they're both staunchly against that sort of stuff. It was a puritan attack on pornography, not whatever bullshit story you want to pretend it was.And if there were specific payment processors for adult content, why didn't the effected companies simply move over to those?
>>8073746>le puritans boogeymancope and seethe, lolishitter/SEAmonkey
Why is this thread getting derailed by payment processor schizo posting?
>>8073747A retort where you say nothing? Seems about right for a in-the-closet faggot like you.
>>8073774I have relationships with women and sex with men. I am gay.Sorry homosexuality is illegal in your terrorist country, pigfucker.
>>8073472this
>>8073814Haha, a gay puritan? That's a first. Can you try not spreading your dipshit aids on this board for just a moment, please?
>>8073827>le gay puritan haha gottemSo you admit to being a brown pedophile
>>8073774>>8073827sounds like repressed homosexuality fr
>if you dont draw nazi chud stuff you draw troon reddit stuff>a platform is bad if it doesn't allow every single form of pornography because """"muh three spinach"""">"btw free speech as is the absolutist ideal that every form of expression is allowed, should only apply to ME and things I like and I agree with and everything i dont like like anti-porn rhetoric needs to get banned or censored also visamastercard should allow ME to make money with cp while i live in a country where porn is illegal and of course they should also keep my identity hidden from the authorities while i commit crimes or else its the heckin puritans also if you hate spiders (because i need to believe you do) you must want to fuck spiders because it's convenient for me to slander any opposition and threat to things i like"you absolute niggers deserve to live in the pods and own nothing
I never had any issues buying and selling adult content with mastercard/visa.Ah, right, i don't live in arabic/asian shitholesLMAO
whenever i see a nsfw artist having their location set in malasya, thailand, china, etc. i just send a DM to their respective law enforcement accounts. Why do nsfwtroons always believe the rules should never apply to them?
nsfw art isn't porn.https://help.vgen.co/hc/en-us/articles/12733211123351-NSFW-Policy
no one asked, no one cares, autismo
>>8073863Meds. Now.
the appeal of social media is that your art will be exposed to hordes of normalgroids who outnumber artists by several orders of magnitude. those people will then presumably throw dollars at you. artist sites are for artists, not clients. this is also like the 6th planned great artist migration from twitter. surely this one is the real deal right
>>8073972>surely this one is the real deal rightthe vibe I'm getting from this haven thing is one they are anti ai but have an obviously ai site set up so like they are already lying about their claimstwo the platform will supposedly allow stuff but also the rules are really ambiguous right now so the extent they might allow is porn but they're still gonna ban shit they don't like soit's basically gonna be a haven for everything except what they don't want, aka le echo chamber like bluesky becamethat and the site just looks really fucking shitty I'm not gonna use it. I don't know why they chose to look fucking encyclopedic and have a .org domainthe (2) failed kickstarter plus them immediately putting all the support videos on their website and kickstarter as soon as they are published just seem really red flag to me.
>>8073747It actually was a coordinated attack by puritan Australians please learn shit before you talk out your ass. Last year they did a huge push and almost successfully banned almost every 18+ game from Steam Itch.io etc? A big group of people all had to work together to save online porn games existing at all in any paid capacity
>source; /v/insane the gooners really believe everyone who isn't 200% on their side must be an outsider
>>8074133Are you like... paid? Why do you randomly not want to believe thisJust look up Collective Shout on wikipedia the issue from last year is mapped out in detail there
>everyone who isn't 20000% on my side is my enemy and they are paid shills because it's convenient for me and i believe it makes me correct by proxy of me accusing my opposition of being someone with an agenda i completely strawmanned myselfthe absolute state of you
its another episode of pedophiles unable to have a genuine discussion without bringing in politics to play themselves up as the victims
if you liked>everyone who disagrees with me is a naziget ready for>everyone that doesn't glaze and worship porn is a paid shill puritan from australia
Just leaving this here for anyone who wants to know what almost happened to games and too lazy to look it upGames were targeted last year, hundreds were actually removed from online stores. It was only reinstated due to group autism, the games you goon to, and even games that just show anything with someone being distressed (kid, women, etc) almost got delisted. Mouthwashing, Detroit Become Human, etc, this was a big dealThank your autists for saving your goonshit and any serious games. You're welcome
>autistic retard is exposed to orgs doing shit for the first time in his lifeman, wait until this nigga heards about animals rights groups
just leaving this here
>>8074152Sometinmes, I know this is crazy, but news means thingsSometimes... Things in the world almost happen, and things change. Random news is not just background noise it is actually happening and effects the worldthe one you live in, sometimes changes if noone counters things... Crazy
thats crazy, redditxis
in france there was a protest against animal abusethat means anyone who says we shouldn't abuse and torture animals is actually a french paid shill because le newsi am very high IQ
So is there a decent enough user population on Haven or......?
>>8074117>they are anti ai but have an obviously ai site set upLike the one made by that jeet nobody talks about anymore, was it HumansOnly?
>>8073269Ai training honey pot
>>8074713Bingo. Even if it isn't, it'll be used that way like when someone scraped Cara.
>>8074713Always remember to add alt-text when you upload images!
>>8074830yeah you wouldnt want to be a bigot ableist against disabled folk with screen readers
>>8074830What does this mean? Isn't scrubbing the exif well enough?
>>8074713>Anyone who does anything is just trying to trick you.>>8074822>Why even bother?Man, I knew this site was full of faggots, but I didn't think you lot were such pathetic defeatist faggots.
>>8074924>Anyone who does anything is just trying to trick you.Well, yes, this is usually the case. Business is pretty much by definition not altruism.
>>8074949>Business is pretty much by definition not altruism.Yes, it's a transaction. It isn't, by definition, a scam. It CAN be, but that doesn't mean it is. Why go through life being so cynical that you see anything and everything as someone trying to fuck you over? Living like that is no better than actually being consistently fucked over.
>>8073747racist and retarded, but i repeat myself
>>8074959It's not just a transaction. Good business is a transaction that minimizes loss and maximizes gain. Someone in the deal is always being manipulated into believing what they have is worth more or less than it actually is. Convincing you not to care is part of the sales pitch. Whether or not being irresponsible makes you happy doesn't change the fact that you are being irresponsible.
>>8074959>being conscious of scams is just as bad as getting scammedAre you a haven admin or something
