After years of practice I have concluded that I'm too retarded to understand perspective on an intuitive level. I keep repeating the same, obvious mistakes on a daily basis. Lining things up with a specific vanishing point feels like I'm playing darts. It takes me far too much time to draw basic shapes correctly. I am unable to construct more than 2 shapes connected together. God help me if they're not connected. It's so fucking over.
>>8073336It's not over. How things recede with distance is only one small part of drawing. You just need to keep things in oh
>>8073336I can help you, anon. Part of the reason behind perspective being a tricky bitch to learn is it's a combination of multiple simultaneous fundamentals and required skills.>Spend time drawing overlapping continuous lines (for individual lines and when constructing basic shapes) using a pencil.>Fill up several books with nothing but various 2D shapes and 3D forms. Big, small, medium, etc.>Jot down dots and connect them with single line strokes or overlapping back-and-forth line strokes. Make sure you're looking at the dot you're aiming for rather than your starting dot or the line as you draw it. >Draw your immediate surroundings from various sitting/standing positions. Brokendraw's video is a good resource on the topic.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzg8-njCIm8&t=2sAt the end of the day, don't stress out too much when it comes to perspective, it's very difficult to master. Perspective can be boiled down to "is everything scaled properly", "is the horizon line consistent", and "have I established my vanishing points" but like anything nuanced, it takes time. Don't fall for DrawaBox! There are no cheat codes to nailing down perspective, either.Even Jack Kirby sucked at perspective but he made up for it with style and confidence. So did Rob Liefeld...maybe he's not the best example, but he made money. And Vivziepop sucks at perspective too, and she's making money.

nothing can help you if you've got no talentif there's something else you want to do with your life it is best to just give up nowit's not worth it
Perspective is the easy part. What's actually hard is anatomy and creativity.
>>8073336If you feel the vanishing points are too difficult, try making a perspective grid instead. I believe it's called The Brewer Method? I know David Finch uses it, or something similar to it, rather than just vanishing points. The upside is that you'll have all these guide lines to make drawing in perspective easy, the downside will be that it will be a good amount of work to set-up your drawing, before even really starting.
