Drawers who successfully dealt with hand/finger/wrist pain, how did you do it? I'm starting to develop pain around the wrist area and back of my hand.
>>
>got a split ergo keyboard
>got a wireless mouse
>stopped death gripping the pencil
Also I did tons of popular wrist exercises you find in top search results with no effect, then I used my meager drawing anatomy knowledge to identify where exactly my pain is, looked into those muscles and nerves, and found an exercise targeted exactly at them, that worked wonders

let it rest and heal before it gets worse. once it starts feeling better you can do the carpal tunnel exercises.

Could you give us an example? I checked the wrist hand pain chart, and it just suggests possible causes.
For example, supposed I assume it's Flexor Retinaculum, googling "Flexor Retinaculum exercises" just gave me the usual wrist hand exercises you find everywhere online.

I wear 2 hand pressure gloves at once when it flares up and that works

Lift weights. Do farmers walks and wrist curls and deadlifts and overhead press and tons of shoulder stuff with a 5lb dumbell. Worked 100% for me. I do the stretches but they dont seem to affect much. Also dont sleep with your wrist curled up
>>
Also search for finger stretcher and get one of the bands with 5 finger holes. Those work good

best advice: Quit KBM gaming. Only play on controller. You lose gamer cred but you save your wrists for more important things
t. used to get severe wrist pain that affected typing/gaming/writing/drawing five years ago

I unironically first developed this kind of pain from playing too much emulated MH4U on a controller. Still not ok after many years.

How's the split keyboard help? I swapped my mouse to my left hand, but I can't be bothered to go wireless.
>>8074558
This + get a controller with turbo if you're playing games with lots of inputs.

I stopped listening to Jews about health and started doing Tai Chi.

When done properly it helps all the joints.

i wanted to do this, but having played mouse and keyboard for so long i tend to fall back into it
i like multiplayer shooter games so i wish more properly supported controller. deadlock does technically but it's very hard with it

Exactly the videos you're looking at. But also wearing a wrist brace. You really don't want to get elbow pain, though. That shit hurts.
>>
>>8074558
The first and most severe repetitive strain injury (couldn't hold a cup, genuinely couldn't use my hands until 6 months later but I was weak and had to build my strength back up to normal) I got in my arms and hands was from gaming with a controller (and drawing) all day.
My advice is to cut gaming completely. I noticed when I start playing games again last month, my tendons and muscles where I got my rsi started to hurt after being fine for over a year of drawing for 5+ hours everyday. It's just too many repetitive movements, especially if you play a lot, like every day and multiple hours a day.

Size of tablet and/or physical media board?
Size/thickness of your drawing tools?

I got hardcore joint damage (physical fuckup) so I wrap my stylus and pencils in leather straps and strings of beads so its thicker and has uneven texture and it helps a bit. You can even buy thick stylus covers online just because of this.
Basically same deal as long road driving where you put those beaded seat covers so your spine dont kill you.

Depending on the size of your tablet you may want to try bigger or smaller drawing area and see how that affects your wrist movement and hand tiredness. This one's very person dependant though.

Rest same as other anons said, exercise if you can, Tai Chi is solid. If you can't do whole body then look up their hands specific gesture motions or what's it called.

>a thick pencil will fuck you up less
Nigga what?
>>
>>8074675
Prevents retard monkey deathgrip. I think one anon mentioned the "dont grip it like you squeezin it" - same deal.

Or to put it differently, computer mouse -> do you want one fit to your hand or one thats too big or too small? If your hand hurts check if changing the size/thickness of your stylus helps.

1. Stop using your phone(on your dominant hand). Holding a brick like that for an extended period of time is unnatural and I find it hurts my hand which adds on top of my already aching hands
2. Squeeze a ball when your resting. If you watching TV squeeze a ball, if you walking bring a ball with you and squeeze it, any activity where you happen to not be using your hands, squeeze a ball. A baseball is what I've been using and its done wonders, but recently I bought some beanie bouncers cause I've learned it is kind of weird for you to just bring a baseball everywhere you go and its close enough in size and hardness. But I recommend a baseball more cause just playing around with it and catching it helps exercise my hands just the right way

KB&M is supreme. Don't ever touch a controller.
I used it a lot, for everything, from very high rank competitive games, to emulated ones.

>>8074496
I don't have it. When I draw, I pay attention to not move the wrist. Ideally you should move the shoulder, then the elbow, and use the wrist only for very small details.
>>
>>8074496
Hold the pencil loosely. Draw with your shoulder and not your wrist.

Tai chi has already been suggested in the thread but I'd go a step further and push you to eat healthy, meditate, and follow the exercises/guidelines from "The Nervous System Reset". A lot of chronic pain tends to be the mind playing tricks due to the afflicted not allowing the nervous system to heal properly.

Make sure to get your vitamins checked and eat your Greek yogurt. Most of your nervous system's health lies within the gut. If your gut isn't healthy, then the rest of you isn't healthy.
