What would be the implications if Silesia became a nation again. Tell me what the country would excel at and be known for
>>221717936>again
>>221717936i'm not a silesia expert, what should i know?
Previously on /int/>Maybe western pomerania or lower silesia but pomerania and greater poland kinda always were polish even despite the numerous attempts to get rid of polish nationals there.>Austria and Germany had a series of wars which resulted in Germany taking over Silesia despite it being part of the Bohemian crown.>Nobody in Prussia was a "real Prussian" because the actual pre-Germannlanguage and identity died out by the 1600sPrussian, as in the German state identity, was defined as being a loyal subject of the von Hohenzollern dynasty from Berlin, that's it. You could be a 'Prussian' in Potsdam or a Prussian in Silesia or a Prussian in Pomerania. The identity of German speaking Prussianism was a very modern 18th century creation, so it lacked the ancient tribal roots that groups like Swabians, Barbarians, Franks, etc. had.>Lmao what? It was always the German backwater, ruled by Junkers who'd rather go back to feudalism than industrialize. Sure, there were some rich mercantile cities here and there and Silesia had some industry, but nothing like the Ruhr. The reason Prussia united the Germans was that they were mighty, not that they were rich.>All of Poland should be part of Russia and Poles russified so we can finally create a Slavic Empire. All Silesia will be genocided in that scenario since you're g*rmanic subhumans>If that's what they teach in German schools we can sleep easy (Silesia was more developed than Bavaria until the Americans decided to put their bases there and businessmen from Eastern territories relocated to Bavaria, Bavaria and Posen were biggest shitholes of the German Empire by a wide margin)
>I hope you will wake up one day. Jews and Anglos destroyed you but you still have things which made you warrior for truth and justice. Im from Silesia and my grandpa fought in Wehrmacht and supported Fuhrer until his last breath>>idk how much of an impact we had on silesia culturallyI think quite a lot. Silesia was divided into a lot of small duchies but they were all Habsburgs' vassals and Vienna was their main cultural centre. Then when these local dynasties died out, Habsburgs took their fiefdoms under direct control. It lasted for 400 years so it definitely left a mark on their culture. Also as long as Habsburgs ruled it, catholicism was the only legal religion, protestants existed but had to have their religious services secretly in forests:https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E2%80%9ELe%C5%9Bne_ko%C5%9Bcio%C5%82y%E2%80%9D_ewangelickie_w_Beskidach (no article in English, sorry)When Prussia took it over, it obviously gave protties a lot of privileges + many Prussians started immigrating these, so around WW1 era Silesia was already religiously mixed.>I don't like Frederick, I think he was completely overrated and I despise his characterBasically he made a gamble in taking silesia which anyone could have identified as a decent betFrom then on his entire career was basically just one lucky battle after another, sometimes he managed to score a decisive victory out of sheer luck, sometimes he was saved from total annihilationThe reason why Prussia was such a dominant state was because of the work of his father and grandfather in reforming the state and the army>Funfact, Chamberline actually offered Hitler Danzig and Lower Silesia if he retreated from the Rest of Poland but the War Economy needed the polish gold reserves or it would fold on debt>i’m from silesia so im not biased and anti hitler, on the contrary i would probably be better off had he won the warhe was simply a product of his time, in retrospect he was right about the jews and ussr
