So agriculture in India is mostly feudal still? Reading into it, it seems that debt-trapping and outright stand-over tactics with organized gangs is the norm there. I've been reading a bit into it and the whole farming industry seems to be a complete clusterfuck. It's perpetually kept de-industralized with government gibs, and yet the farmers themselves on tiny plots are bullied around by regional kingpins that capture the local bureaucrats.I had no idea agriculture there was so backwards, semi-modern. There's still scythes and manual planting, and outside of the water pumps, dwarf grain variants and fertilizer, it's still functionally like it was hundreds of years ago.
