>be japan
>economy grows like crazy from 1945-1990
>experience one economic crash
>economy dies forever, 0% growth in 30 years
>GDP per capita will be surpassed by poland and china soon
why are they like this?
>>
It's because the five megacorporations that effectively rule your country had decided that they would rather manufacture electronics in Asian countries where they could 'pay' the peasants with a small bag of rice instead.

Looking at GDP data in US dollars can lead to a loss of perspective. The period from 2000 to 2005 was the worst for the Japanese economy.

This is Japan's GDP in yen, which better reflects the actual living conditions of Japanese people. Currently, Japan is a very comfortable and easy place to live.

This is misinformation and lying with statistics 101

In Germany we work 40 hour week contracts by default.

The difference is that in lazy countries women don't work at all but here they work part time jobs, skewing the average down.

Japan is legally required to claim that they're poor no matter how rich they get and the US gives them stuff for free because it overproduces oil and food. Article 14 on the security treat claims that Japan.

>Nevertheless it is also recognized that the resources of Japan are not presently sufficient, if it is to maintain a viable economy, to make complete reparation for all such damage and
suffering and at the same time meet its other obligations.

And it's not just me who notes this. Karel Van Wolfren lived in Japan since the 70s, here's what he has to say about the public works boom in the 90s.

@around 36:00 you can see he's astonished that people still call Japan poor and how lavish the country had become since back when he lived there in the 80s. I've read his book too, he also talks about the lack of infrastructure they used to have and nebulous government spending.

Germany has turbocharged muh gdp growth via infinity browns coupled with extreme debt spending in the next couple years. The idea is they can close the industry loss doom loop they are in via reducing labor costs via infinity browns. The problem is infinity browns in a long enough timeline means shit quality products and runaway gibs.
Hans dun goofed this time. Although they' have another comeback in them IF and ONLY they go full 1488
